It was a cold, crisp night in North Carolina, but Jonathan didn't seem to mind the cold that much. Jon was sitting on his balcony rails looking out into the woods behind his house. He wondered what it would be like to be able to roam free in the woods with the birds. Jonathan always came out on his balcony at night, just to think and reflect on what had happened that day and just to clear his head before he went to bed. Although he little friends at school, he tried to stay positive with everything.
Jonathan turned his head towards the woods, thinking he had heard a sound, almost like a growl. He looked closely, seeing a pair of almost silver reflections staring athim. There was another sound, this time in his room. Jon turned his head to see it was his sister, Jen.
"What are you doing out here so late Johnny?" his fourteen year old sister asked him. She had bright green eyes, with a hint of blue. Long brown hair that was put up in a messy bun. She looked almost exactly like Jon himself. Jon had clear blue eyes with short brown hair spiked in the front, his mother had blonde short hair with green hazel eyes while his dad had brown shoulder length hair, that was always in a man bun, and blue eyes. His family was always tall, Jon himself being 6'2, his sister 5'11, his mother 5'10 and his father 6'3.
"Just looking at the stars." Jon replied, looking up at the stars, thinking what it would be like to be up there, free.
"Sounds lonely," Jen said, sitting down on the rails to the left of him. "Do you ever what's out in the woods?" Jen said again.
They weren't aloud in the woods as the mayor said there were evil creatures lurking out there that could kill them in one hit. The mayor, Mrs. Calibre, had put up a short fence to keep us from going in, and the creatures from coming out.
"There's probably creatures out there, like Mrs.Calibre said." Jon replied. Although he didn't believe what he had said, he didn't want to worry his little sister, as he had actually been out in the woods before. There were creatures of all sorts out there, growling everywhere, screeching, yells, anything that would happen in a nightmare had happened. There were eyes watching him every corner, although there was one in particular that kept following him, they were silver , like the ones he had seen just before Jen came out. Just then Jon remembered about the reflections and looked at the woods looking to see if they were still there. They weren't, and jon almost felt sorrowful to see they weren't watching him, or even there.
"C'mon Jonathan, I know you think there's more out there than the Mayor says." Jen whined to him, tugging at his sweater.
"Jen just drop it, there are creatures out there, we know that much." Jon said to his sister.
"Yeah but, what if they're not all evil?" Jen question her older brother, "What if we went out there to look?" Jen let go of Jon's sleeve and turned to look out at the woods, the moonlight reflecting on the branches, making them look almost silver blue.
"Are you crazy Jen! There are creatures out there and I am not putting you in danger." Jon said, putting emphasis on not. "There is no way we are going out there."
"But Jon~, for five minutes?" Jen begged Jonathan again, giving him her best puppy dog look she could muster. "You're going to be 18 in a few months please~." she kept begging, knowing Jon would give up soon.
"Okay, fine." Jon said exasperated, "But we have to do it now before mom or dad wake up. C'mon." Jon said going back inside. His sister cheered quietly, going into her room to change into clothe for the woods.
Jon sighed knowing that something were to happen, but the look on Jen's face was so happy he couldn't say no. Jon went to his walk in closet to put on some jeans and a black v-neck, grabbing combat shoes and a blue jacket before leaving his closet.
Once he was out his door, his sister was standing there in skinny jeans, a light green long sleeve and her black nikes.
"C'mon, let's go." Jon said walking out the front door with his sister in tow.

Once Jonathan and Jen were outside on their porch, Jen started jumping around silently screaming because she had never done anything so thrilling in her life.
"Now, we have to be quiet so nobody hears us." Jon whispered to his sister looking around to make sure no one was up that could see them sneaking around.
Jon waved his hand to the right, signaling to his sister that they were going right. They started walking slowly to the fence behind all the houses. Once they were near the fence Jon put his hand up for his sister to pause.
"Okay, so once we're over this fence, stay as close to me as you can and do not get lost." Jon whispered to Jen before he helped her over the 6 foot fence surrounding the town. Once she was over Jon jumped up, grunting, as he tried to get a gripped on the top of the fence, pulling himself over and jumping down, landing with a grunt as he felt the collision of the ground.
"Try to stay close." Jonathan re-said to his sister to make sure she wouldn't go running around in the woods. Jen vigorously nodded, bouncing in her shoes wanting to already start exploring before they had to get back home.
Jon started leading the way going farther into the woods, creatures awaiting them to enter, Jen bouncing around, Jon looking around every second to keep watch for creatures, and a pair of silver eyes staring at him in the distance before turning and howling. Jonathan heard a howl and looked where it had came from, up on a cliff a pair of silver eyes stared at him before disappearing into the darkness like everything else around them.

Jen started to run off in random directions while Jonathan tried to keep up, soon he lost track of her. He looked around seeing a boulder next to his right and a cliff above him. Jon looked up at the treeś leaves blocking out the moon, but the silver light came through the cracks of the leaves. As he was looking up he could see a few stars peeking through. The moment was ruined with a loud howl surrounding the clearing he was standing at. Jon backed up into the cliff behind him, he could feel the dirt beneath his fingers as he gripped the wall, the roots of long gone trees bumping his back. He stayed like this, frozen in fear as he heard a deep growl in front of him. A pair of silver eyes looking back at him in at the edge of the trees. Jonathan could hear this beast moving in the undergrowth, leaves crunching as the beast circled him. Suddenly the beast jumped on the boulder. The beast looked like a massive dog, its' coat a silver with black designs on its' face. The beast dog howled, and jumped off the rock, starting to slowly stalk him, circling him as if he was prey.
The beast dog started walking in front of him, its' silver eyes reflecting the slight moon light coming through the leaves. Jon couldn't believe what happened next, the beast started to change. Slowly the beast became a man with dark skin and black hair styled in a fohawk. The man, or beast, walked towards Jonathan.
"Hello, my name's Evan." the man casually spoke to Jon, as if he wasn't a beast just a second ago. This man, Evan, put his hand out. Jon skeptically looked at this man's' hand, he didn't understand what had just happened, just a moment ago he thought he was going to die to a beast, now he is greeted by a man named Evan.
Jon hesitantly took the man's hand, not sure what to do, in his little town you greeted everyone with a nod of the head, not putting your hand out.
"Not a talker huh?" Evan questioned.
"I just don't understand what's going on." Jon replied noticing the man's accent, he had never heard anything like it before.
"Well, let me introduce myself," Evan said letting go of Jon's hand, "My name's Evan Fong, I'm from Canada, and I'm 23."
Jon still didn't understand but he just went along with it. He suddenly remembered that his sister was still missing.

This man, Evan, was leading him around the woods, blabbering about some place called Canada.
"Everybody that I've met has made fun of Canada, saying we have polar bears and igloos every where." Evan kept talking.
"Not to be rude Evan, but, what is this Canada you've been talking about?" Jonathan asked, completely confused about this so called place.
"You don't know where Canada is?" Evan asked, a puzzled look spreading across his face.
"Honestly? No, I never heard of this place before, I live in District 42, in North Carolina." Jon replied.
"Ah, that makes sense as to why you do not know of Canada, the people in those districts always seem to put the people in the dark." Even said to him. He then put his hand on his chin and looked up in the sky, and suddenly stopped walking. " I've got an idea," He turned towards Jonathan, "since youŕe already out here, why don't we take an adventure and travel through the woods?"
"That sounds great and all, but I still don't know you very well and I need to look out for my sister still, too." Jon stated, suddenly remembering his lost sister, "Jen!" he exclaimed, frantically looking around the woods.
"Who?" Evan questioned.
"My little sister, I lost her when we were traveling through the woods awhile back. I went to go look for her, but there was this beast that stopped me." Jon turned towards Evan, "But there was no beast when you appeared." Jon took weary steps backwards, looking at Evan skeptically.
"Who are you really?"--------
The reason there are dates are because those are the days I wrote on, plus they're kinda like a little time skip. Sorry about posting this but I've been told that this was a good story, even if there's no H2OVanoss, then again I had to read it aloud in front of my teacher.
