Chapter Sixteen

Jaehee's Pov

"So this means we should be ready for anything." Suho scrunched his nose.

We gathered around the coffee table in the living room, after we performed and got back from the music show, we immediately got changed and held a meeting.

Luhan and I told them everything that happened when I was held hostage by the vampires, the last vampire we saw before he vanished told us to be prepared for what was about to come.

"What should we do now? We can't beat them. Even if we have Luhan we still can't win because Luhan don't have full control of his abilities yet." Xiumin, who was sitting next to Luhan stated.

Kai sighs in conflict, "So we're screwed then."

"Come on, let's not give up so soon. We might be at a disadvantage but there's also a 1% possibility that we might win," Chanyeol stood in front of them, "It's not just our lives at stake here, if the vampires wipe us out, there won't be anyone left to defend the humans from becoming vampire food."

His words were a little convincing but were they enough to fully convinced the rest of them?

He continued, "Who else other than us can stand up against them? I doubt the werewolves would come to our aid, they've been hiding all this while, they won't risk it." Chanyeol tried to persuade his members, they felt a tint of hope sparked in their chest.

Through his words, I gained some confidence. If we work together as a team then we'll definitely be able to win against the vampires.

"Chanyeol is right. We're the only ones who can stop the Phantoms and their minions. We're not only doing this for us but for Jaehee and everyone in the world." Kris got up off the couch and stood next to Chanyeol.

Sehun nodded his head in agreement. "That's right. Even if we die, at least we can say we tried, right?"

Everybody smiled at his words. 

"Yeah!" Tao exclaimed as he pumped his fist in the air.

Thanks to Chanyeol, the members got their spirits up again.

I dropped my gaze onto Chanyeol and flashed a smile as we locked eyes, when I turned away from him I accidentally landed my gaze on Luhan who didn't say a word ever since we told the members what happened earlier.

Is something wrong?

When I was just about to call out to him, he leaned away from the wall and looked at all of us. "I've decided."

He successfully got our attention.

"Decided on what?" Said Chen as he raised a brow.

"I've decided to train and overcome this power."

"Are you crazy? It's too dangerous. What if it kills you?" Suho immediately disagreed with the idea.

"Yeah, hyung. It's too dangerous even for you." Chanyeol agreed.

"I don't care what happens to me. If it means I can protect you all then I will." It seemed like he already made up his mind so nothing we say could get through to him.

"Hyung-" Sehun was about to say something but got cut off. "What's the point of having this super strength but can't even use them?" He brought up his hand to his face as he stared intensely at it.

He has a point but I was still terrified that something might happen to him. 

"I'll be fine. As long as I don't lose control, I can do it. Trust me."

He has been avoiding my eyes for a while now.

Finally, Suho broke the silence with a sigh. "Okay, if you really want to do it then we can't stop you. But on one condition..." Suho squeezed Luhan's shoulder before flashing a smile, "You must let us help you." 

Luhan tried to convince the members to put their faith in him. He flashed a really sweet smile, a smile that I have never seen before since I became a member of the group, his smile was genuine. 

I didn't realize I was blushing because of how drawn in I was by his charming smile.
