"Just Once" (Original Poem)
Listen, because you're tired of hearing.
Speak, because you're bored of silence.
Climb, because you're afraid of heights.
Love, because you don't want to get hurt.
Adventure, because you're afraid of getting lost.
Buy on impulse, because you will run out of money.
Do everything at least once;
Sometimes once is all you get.
"The Wolf" (Original Poem)
In the night, the wolf has gleaming eyes.
She hunts on the ground, and watches the sky.
Things hide in the dark, but she is better;
Using only the shadows as her cover.
In the night, the wolf stalks her prey;
Her lover is calling, pulling her away.
Paws hit the ground like silent leaves,
Running to meet the moon, hiding behind the trees.
In the night, the wolf is calling,
From the moon, white snow is falling.
Every night she tries and tries,
Singing her sweet lullabies.
Crystals (Original Poem)
Crystals can show you the future,
Or help you keep your composure.
Crystals can give you love lost, or love gained.
You could even obtain love that remains the same.
Witches use them in harmless spells,
Then people accuse us of being from Hell.
My crystals are very appealing;
Believe it or not, they're used for healing.
Crystals can mend your broken heart,
Or even better: ensure you and your lover never part.
Beware: they are gorgeous to the eyes,
But are capable of imitating the biggest lies.
Crystals can weave a lovely little web,
One that will make you lose your head.
Stay calm—a witch's secrets will be spilled,
If she uses her crystals against your will.
"The Journal" (The Red Wheelbarrow Shadow Poem)
I can't speak
To people
My thoughts are put
Into my journal
To open the pages
Would be to know
My entire life story
In one show
"Acquainted with Butterflies" (Acquainted with the Night Shadow Poem)
Butterflies lift me as I walk the halls.
They whisper, "It's nothing."
I can't stop them from fluttering.
Bold and beautiful, they have the hold.
No shrinking back; instead they soar.
Nothing makes them cower, can't tell what's in store.
Butterflies tell me when he's looking.
My heart becomes attuned with their wings.
I hope I don't become one of his flings.
Force is in their outlasting nature.
They pull me with their sweet lullaby,
But the wrong strings were pulled and now you're saying goodbye.
I knew I wasn't your love at the end of the fall,
But my butterflies still lift me as I walk the halls.
"My Boy" (Sonnet 18 Shadow Poem)
He made me crazy, but he was my boy.
We fell in love very suddenly one day.
The new girl just uses him as her toy,
Now I'm standing here; nothing left to say.
During dark days, I quietly sit and ponder,
What it would be like if we were still together.
I left you, now my heart and soul wander,
They're looking for you, 'cause we were two birds of one feather.
You never left my side; staying day and night,
Sometimes I felt like a bother, but you assured me I was wrong.
Everything was thrown away, because our plight wasn't right,
Now I'm screaming for my best friend, though I know you're gone.
One day I know I will be okay,
Please come back so you can show me the way.
