Phan at Hogwarts

Year one - Part 1.

Phil was extremely excited. It was the best birthday ever when his Hogwarts letter came.
Being Muggle born made everything quite confusing at first, but he caught on pretty quick.
So him and his family got together his school supplies in the summer. Preparing their only Wizard son for his first year of Hogwarts.
On the day of his departure he stood between platforms 9 and 10 quite confused, he looked up to his mum. "Are you sure I have to run through it?" He asked, his mother shrugged, hugging her son "That's what the lady said." She replied.
He pulled away from the hug, then went to each of his family members and made all his goodbyes.
Phil tried to put on a brave face, doing his best not to show how nervous he really was. He prepared himself to leave his family, something he had never done before, and was a bit worried about.
"See you next break, okay? And I'll write to you whenever I can! I love you." He called out. He grabbed his trolley, began to ran as he closed his eyes in fear, when he re-opened them he saw the sign which said "Platforms 9 3/4" he smiled.
This was only the second time he had visited any part of the wizard world, it still amazed him.
After taking it all in he decided it was time to get in the train, but he was having a bit of trouble. He had no idea where to go, and had started wishing he hadn't told his parents he would figure it out on his own.
As he frantically looked for an adult to help him he tripped clumsily, ramming into the cart of another kid, spilling both of their things everywhere.
Phil rushed to the ground trying to pick it up, "I'm so sorry!" He cried.
The other boy bent down picking things up as well "Oh- um don't worry about it" he said flustered from the fall.
Together they sorted through the supplies, under a pile of books was an orange hamster. Phil picked it up, "Um is this yours?" He asked.
The boy laughed "Yeah, her names Suki!" He said picking her up and putting her into a small box.
"Aw that's an awful small cage" exclaimed Phil. The boy laughed again "Nope just look, it's bigger on the inside" he said showing him the inside.
Phil geeked out a bit "Kinda like the TARDIS" The other boy smiled back at him.
The boy had brown fluffy hair and dark brown eyes. He has a nice smile thought Phil, as the boy answered "Yeah, exactly." But then stoped and asked "Wait, you watch Doctor Who?"
Phil nodded "I've watched the original re-runs a billion times! Why you so surprised though? Everyone in England watches it." He said.
The boys eyes lit up "ohhhhh, you must be Muggle born!" He said confidently.
Phil sighed "How'd you know?" He asked, then sighed again saying "Wow I must look as clueless as I feel."
The boy shook his hands 'no' then said "No, it's not that. It's just your clearly a First year, but your going in the wrong direction. And second you watch Doctor Who, which means you have time for television." The boy said.
"Whys that weird?" Phil asked confused. "Because Wizards and Witches don't have Tv, we have the daily profit." He replied back.
Phil laughed a bit "Wow, I sure do have a lot to learn." He said.
"That's okay!" Replied the boy kindly, he handed him the last book on the ground "Here, come with me! I'll help you." He said.
Phil felt excited again, it seemed things would be going back on track now! He took the book from the boy "Thanks um- oh sorry I forgot to ask your name, I'm Phil" he said sticking his hand out to shake.
The boy shook it "Well hello Phil my name is Daniel, but people just call me Dan." He said
"Nice to meet you Dan" said Phil as the two boys together began to walk to the end the train.
Dan waved his hand "Here this way!" he said. They chatted a bit more as the whistle blew, they both felt tired and a bit stressed. But enjoying each others company shared a compartment, at the time they had already had the feeling of adventure, but for little did they know the journey was only just beginning.
