Seulgi wasn't sure which one was better..

The endless slanders they often exchanged in each other's presence

Or their current situation.

Ever since what happened that night Seulgi noticed how Jimin was avoiding her. To be honest, they haven't exchange even just a word since then. It silently wounded her little by little.

The house evidently felt so quiet and to her it was suffocating. What was worse when she noticed how it was as if he refused to acknowledge her existence. He would leave so early in the morning and return when Seulgi was already in her own room as they slept separately from the start of their marriage. But it was her room that just happened to be where they did it that night.

It made her emotionally worse because she has been crying herself to sleep every night remembering his touch on her and the thought that she would not experience that again was so painful.

Was it wrong for her to hope that at least their relationship would improve?

"Congrats! You are positive and it's four weeks now!" Seulgi has been feeling under the weather for the past couple of days so she finally gave in and took the time off work to set an appointment with her family doctor, Dr. Bae. Right now she was attended by the eldest Bae daughter, Irene, whom is also a really good friend of hers. In fact her family and The Bae was really close as The Bae was their physician for the longest time that they were basically more than just close acquaintances. They were good family friends. Just like how it was with Jimin's family.

"Hello.. Earth to Seulgi." Irene called her out. She was still processing the news she received earlier because to be honest she was alarmed.

"Unnie, are you sure?" She asked because it was still hard for her to believe.

"Of course! I am sure that you are pregnant now because I triple checked! You know this is just as important to our family as it is to yours.."

Right. Irene and Jimin are actually first cousins as her mom and his father are siblings. That's how they were all related to each other.

"It's the Park family first grandchildren and most possibly be the next in line to inherit the company." Seulgi added on.

"Oh my god, I didn't mean it that way, silly girl!" She laughed at her. "I mean yes it's the first grandchildren so everyone will be ecstatic. Just you wait till I deliver the news. But no, I didn't mean it that way. I am happy for you and Jimin-ie. By the way, why is my cousin not here now?"

She didn't know how to respond. Truthfully she was tired of acting like everything was fine but she knew she had to for the sake of everyone.

"Wait.. I am gonna scold him for letting his sick wife-" Seulgi noticed Irene was taking her phone and she could only guess what she planned to do next. "Hmm..let me-"

"Unnie, please keep this between us first." She automatically said and that successfully stopped Irene from proceeding.

"Why?" The elder one eyed her suspiciously. "Come to think of it.. you don't look as happy?"

"Of course I am happy, unnie! I really am. I- I just want to surprise him and everyone." She partly lied. It was true that she felt very happy although her face didn't show it. However, for the time being she wanted to keep this to herself first. "So promise me you won't tell.. I'll announce it myself at the right time."

Irene scanned her and finally nodded. "Okay.. but don't take too long. Everyone is gonna be so happy, Seulgi-ah."

Maybe not everyone, unnie.

"How are you doing today, Seulgi-ssi?" Dr. Son asked her during her round of check-up.

Seulgi grinned. "I am okay."

"I know that it's too much for you to remember but don't worry, Seulgi-ssi. From the investigation you didn't suffer serious collision and luckily the airbag protected you from major crash."

So she has been told by her family that she got into an accident while on her way to work. No one knew exactly what happened but according to the authority she lost control of the wheel and crashed onto a tree.

"And Seulgi-ssi..." Dr. Son started. "I know you don't remember this now but according to your medical record you are seven weeks pregnant at the time of the incident..."

She felt her heart dropped and somehow feared what's coming next.

"I also only found out about this today so I checked.." Dr. Son looked at her calmly as she waited. "You must be very lucky. Your baby is safe."

Seulgi closed her eyes, thankful for what she has heard. As if remembering something she asked, "Does my family knows about this?"

"Oh..Not yet. Do you want me to inform them, Seulgi-ssi?"

She quickly shook her head. "No. I- I will do it, Dr."
