Jinn was breathing hard and beads of sweat were running down his face and arms. They had been running the training sequence for 3 hours, his fatigue was very apparent. He hadn't managed to land a single blow on the dummies that would cause them to deactivate, but he could keep them from inflicting any major harm to his body.
"C'mon Jinn I know you can do this!" Rem almost seemed mad in his tone. He was frustrated because he knew that Jinn had to pass this training sequence to be able to hold his own on the mission. That thought kept Rem from easing up the training, he didn't want Jinn to die, he was lost in thought when Jinn was sent stumbling backwards into the wall, bouncing off and hitting the floor hard. "SHIT!" He yelled and turned the training sequence off. Rem ran over to a face down, wheezing Jinn. "JINN! Are you okay?" Rem turned Jinn on to his back and made sure he wasn't badly hurt. After catching his breath Jinn patted Rem on the shoulder and spoke.
"I-I-it's okay Rem." He coughed violently for a few seconds and his breathing began to slow down. "I'm fine. I just go the wind knocked out. Rem pulled one of his small tubes with the red liquid.
"Here drink this." He popped the stopper out and handed it to Jinn.
"You sure it's not radioactive?" Rem let out a laugh.
"Just drink it you idiot." Jinn took the vile and began to drink the liquid, it was strange, Jinn was a little disappointed that the liquid was tasteless and scentless. He half expected it to be strawberry flavored or something like that. For a second nothing happened, then the pain from being thrown across the room began to slowly fade until it was like he had never been hurt. The pain had completely gone and even the fatigue from training had completely disappeared. "Feel better?" Jinn looked up at Rem standing over him.
"Yeah I feel great. What's in that?"
"Nothing special its mostly water with a few herbs, it's also infused with magic to create a powerful healing effect."
"Make's sense why they call them health potions."
"Right." Jinn stood up and began stretching still getting used to the full recovery he had experienced. Rem leaned up against the wall of the dojo and looked at Jinn with a bit of sorrow in his eyes. "Jinn, I'm sorry I pushed too hard and you could've been seriously hurt just now."
"Don't worry about it. It's not like I died or anything." Jinn's joke seemed not to have any effect on Rem. He stared off into space with a worried look. "Sorry that was probably in bad taste.
"No, it's okay it's not your fault." Jinn could see that Rem was visibly bothered by something. He seemed very saddened by the sight of Jinn getting knocked out. "Let's take a little break Jinn. We should probably get some lunch or something."
"Sure thing." Jinn was getting quite a bit hungry from the intense training he had undergone. "So where are we going for lunch today?" Rem had already begun walking out of the dojo when he paused and looked back at Jinn.
"Were just going to make some sandwiches in the guild's kitchen." He said with a smile.
After preparing the meal they moved into the mess hall that was next door to the kitchen of course it was empty. The tables in the mess hall were arranged in 3 rows of 4 tables. And they each had 4 chairs either side. The mess hall wasn't as well decorated as lounge where they had come in through but was still very tidy and very well kept. There was a slight tension in the room as Jinn and Rem eat away at their meals. Jinn spoke up to break the silence.
