Waiting backstage is worth it

It was valentines day and we were having a school play, this is the last time showing it to an audience. I was waiting backstage behind the curtain peeking out as half of the cast sings their songs. It finishes quicker than I thought, practically mid song. It did stop early, everyone was quiet and wondering what was going on even the people backstage with me were questioning it. When suddenly I hear Anthony's voice speak though his mike. The first words that came out was "Vanessa, is Vanessa backstage" just as Tom takes me, walks me over to center stage next to Anthony. We stare at each other before he speaks up, he looked nervous, I know when he's nervous and he's never nervous. We have been best friends for the past three years never left each others side and I had to admit I did have some feelings for him, even though I never said anything about it.

"Vanessa, in all the time we have been friends I've realized that you're extremely crazy, but your my kind of crazy, will you be my valentine"

He looked back at his lead cast mates and says "come on guys back me up here"

As I'm processing everything that has happened in the past minute or so I lean in closer to Anthony's face I whisper in his ear "yes, without a doubt I'll be your valentine" I back my face up a little but out of no where he grabs my face and kisses me, kisses me like I have never been kissed before. The audience starts to cheer and some start to whistle so I eventually smile and turn red, I'm slightly stunned by all this and when all the girls on stage, which were about six or seven take me to the side and we all act girly as the boys on stage huddle up together and pat Anthony on the back as if this was all staged before the show.

Tom who was the lead lead person in this entire show goes up back to center stage and says "looks like we have a show to finish, don't we folks"

I run back off stage where I was before and find my best friend.
