That exhilarating breeze,
That took my breath away,
Trying to fight it.
Plant smells surrounding me,
Gasoline,
Fried foods,
Dusty roads,
Dirt shooting under my tires.
And thank you,
For the excitement,
That filled me up,
Like a balloon that could never really burst.
To see something,
Familiar and understand why you're here.
Puddles,
That splash against my ankles,
and muddy my socks.
My speed,
That beats my heart faster,
The pounding in my throat,
Making me want to squeal,
Just let it out.
To act like it wasn't a problem getting here,
Even though you're first and relaxed.
Pushing me to break boundaries,
And I want to,
Grow out of my childhood shell.
Shouldn't test my limit,
But I wouldn't be me if we hadn't met,
At a bench,
In a park,
You're my secret.
