I woke up and felt numb, I've been crying silently through the night. I feel horrible; I want to know how long my mom has kept this from me. I feel so sorry for being so cold towards her. I don't know if she told me this to pity her or whatever either. At my age I should be worrying about being popular and going to parties and shit, not taking care of my sick mother.
"Jade I can stay here with you if you want because I already know you aren't going to go to school." I jumped. Then I realized that I had asked Cole to sleep over because of the incident. "Yeah I need someone to talk to right now." He walked over to my bed and sat on the edge of it. "Okay what are you thinking? I want to make you laugh at least. So take it all out now." "I think I'm going to talk to her more, it’s the least I can do, right?" I asked. "Right" he agreed. "But the thing is, why would leave if my mom is going through this." Cole shrugged. "I don't know Jade, but I think you should talk to her. I mean she is already sick." "True" I sighed.
"Now can we be normal teenagers, damn. The atmosphere is so sad." Cole said. That actually made me smile a little. "Can you be a little more sympathetic you jerk?" I joked. "Me, a jerk? Never that." Cole wailed. He threw his hands up in the air and acted like a diva. "Ew you are so gay!" I said laughing. "Never that. I'm straighter then a line." "Sure you are."
I got a text.
Jake- 'Hey jade, why aren't u at school today? I was looking forward to seeing ur pretty face. :('
I smiled at the text, "Why you smiling? I didn't even say anything yet." Cole said. I slapped his arm. "Not everything is about you Cole" I chuckled. "Well why were you smiling then?" he replied. "Jacob texted me." Cole shifted uncomfortably. "I don't like that kid; he gives me a bad feeling." I screwed my face up at that. "What do you mean you don't like him? Do you think I care who you don't like?" I shot at him. "Look, I just don't think I wanna see you get hurt if you get involved with him." He said scratching the back of his neck. "You've got to be kidding me, I don't like Amber and you still went out with her. You know I didn't. So why should I listen to you?" Cole rubbed his forehead. "You're right."
'Something came up; I was looking forward to seeing you too. I'll see you tomorrow though cutie ;*' I replied back to Jacob. Cole is sitting here looking more awkward than ever. "Sorry Cole." I gave him a quick hug. "No, I’m sorry."
Jake- 'can’t wait ;), and mind telling me what happened? It’s cool if you don’t want to.'
'I found out my mom is really sick, but I’m alright now.'
Jake- oh, sorry to hear. I hope she'll be alright.
'Me too'
"Get ready I’m going to take you out." Cole said. "May I ask where?" I replied. "Somewhere." He smirked mischievously. I got out of my bed and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a hot mess and I just stood there laughing at myself.
After taking a nice shower and doing my hygiene routine I picked out my outfit. Cole was downstairs making me something to eat. My mom is usually working around this time so it won’t be awkward for him down there. I picked out some ripped high waisted jeans, and white crop top, my black leather jacket, a gold chain, with white air force Nikes. I didn’t know where Cole was taking me but I know I still have to look hot.
I applied mascara and eyeliner before running swiftly down the stairs. When I got down the stairs I noticed my shoes where untied. I bent down to tie them.
When I finished tying them I got back up and noticed Cole was looking at my ass the whole time. "Cole you're supposed to be cooking and not checking me out." I said smirking. "You wish I was checking you out princess, now eat up." He replied blushing. I thank God that Cole is backing to his jerk self. I grab my food and smack Cole behind. "Good job Chef." I grinned. I started to munch on the egg and sausage that he made. "This is great." I said. "Ew close your mouth when you eat you dirty bitch." he said with disgust apparent in his facial features. I busted laughing because of the English accent he used.
As soon as we were done eating, I took our plates and placed them into the sink. "Come on." Cole said. “Alright, I’m coming calm down.” I said. Cole wore a plain white t shirt, White air force Nikes, cargo pants and a Yankees Snapback. His dark brown hair was swept to the sides of his hat.
“You look good for once.” Cole smirked. “What do you mean for once, I look good all the time? Thank you very much.” I said spacing out my words when I speak. “I meant exactly what I said, you finally look good.” “Ugh, Cole you’re such a jerk!” I huffed. “I know.” He chuckled.
When we finally reached our destination Cole told me to get out. He’s so rude, the nerve of him sometimes. Why did I stick around with him for all these years? No clue. “Where are we?” I asked cautiously. “Come on we have to walk there. When we got there, I was greeted with by some of Cole’s guy friends. “Was sup, I’m Matt.” One said. “I’m Sean.” The other said. “I’m Jade, nice to meet you too.” I said shaking both of their hands. “Oh wait, you’re Jade?” Sean said. “Yes why?” I asked. “Your sexier then Cole described you as” Matt said. Oh so Cole was talking about me now? I turned to face Cole whose cheeks were warm with embarrassment.
I chuckled, “Is that supposed to be a compliment?” I asked Cole. He scratched the back of his neck. “Okay guys lets go inside now.” That only made bust out in a fit of giggles. It Cole looked so red in the face I just couldn’t help myself. “Where are we?” I asked. “Our Lair.”
“Are you guys trying to rape me?” I joked. “I would love to” Sean said. I started to laugh really hard. “You’re really attractive though. I don’t understand why Cole never tried.” Matt added. ‘You guys are pigs.” I said chuckling. “Hey you were the one who brought it up.” Sean said putting his hands up defensively. “Hey, what kind of lair is this anyway?” “It’s for Graffiti.” Cole said to me. “You never told me about it! You know how much I love art!” I said. “I thought now would be a good time.” He shrugged. “I hate you sometimes.” I said. “Dam she likes art too, I like her already.” Matt said to Sean.
*
“So do you guys go to our school too? I’ve never seen either one of you.” I said honestly. “We both do.” Matt said. “Oh wow, I’ve never noticed you guys.” I replied spraying a thick black line on the cool concrete wall. “That’s how high school works, love.” I love Sean’s accent, he’s from London and kept his accent stronger than ever it’s really cute honestly. Matt is from here and met Cole during freshman year; I don’t really interact with Cole’s friends which is partially why I don’t know Matt or Sean. They are pretty cool though.
I stepped back to look my creation and sighed with satisfaction. “Damn” I said out loud. I looked over to everyone else. “I’m really enjoying myself guys, I love it here.” I said ecstatically. “You can call us up and tell us when you want to meet us here.” Matt said. “Wow, you’re really good at this Jade, you got talent.” Sean said. “Thanks” I smiled genuinely, I gave both Matt and Sean hugs. Cole stood there awkwardly. “No hug for me?” I said faking his hurt. “No, ew. I see you every day calm your tits.” I chuckled.
We all walked out of the “lair” making small talk and cracking jokes. I never felt so happy and welcomed in my life. They are so nice and they are hilarious. I really should get out more. “I like you way more than amber.” Sean said. “Oh really?" Why is that?” I asked. “She’s such a bloody bitch I can’t stand her stuck up arse. If I was a girl, I would’ve stomped on her already.” With that being said by Sean I started to laugh. Hard. I mean like, tears rolling down my face. He knows exactly how I feel about her. “Why is that funny Jade?” Cole asked. “Oh come on, you know exactly how I feel about her.”
“I think you should be in our little crew Jade, you’re welcomed here anytime.” Matt said with a grin. “I feel so honored.” I joked.
