The system of symbols has been going successfully. We've grouped the most important topics into sets of symbols. I notice throughout the process that we have begun to make so many, the actual symbols and what they represent can barely be seen on the whiteboard. Nobody has stopped and taken time to review any of them either. We need to be able to communicate fluently, which means we need to memorize this.

I walk up to the board, where Cailey draws the symbols, Brogan leads them though deciding, Galeno helps to come up with them, and Savvy puts them in an order easy to understand. I point towards the board and then to my head, shrugging, trying to tell them I don't have these memorized. Galeno, taking it the wrong way, gets up and points towards the symbols and copies the motions. He seems to think I don't understand why we have chosen the symbols, so I shake my head and grab the board. I turn the board around, so neither of us can see it, then tap the head. I turn the board around back towards us, then look and copy a symbol. I turn it back once more, showing that I can't remember the symbol if I'm not looking at it.

Galeno nods, and I can tell he gets it. The others seem to get what I'm saying as well, as Cailey stops drawing and is instead reviewing the symbols. I wave my hands and gather everyone in a circle, and set the whiteboard in the middle. I look at the symbols, then form the sentence "Hello, I am Amen. Who are you?". I turn towards Abhinav, who is sitting next to me, and he forms his own sentence, "I am Abhinav. Who are you?", turning towards the next person.

We try having a conversation using the symbols, and eventually turn over the whiteboard and try doing it from memory. We have to look back at it a few times, but after a few hours the conversation gets easier and more natural. The timer reads 12:00. 12 hours gone. 12 hours left.
