I was browsing through the books. Oh, how I loved the sweet smell of books. There was nothing like it. At last, a drawing of a princess on a thick book caught my eye. I took hold of it, but at the same time, I felt another's hand over mine. I looked up. Him.
His smile made me feel queasy and my head was spinning. No. I won't let simple human emotions get the best of me. But I mean, I AM human... UGH! He smiled at me. That mischievous grin that, at the same time, is the most charming thing you'll ever see. No, no no!
" You gonna get this? " He asked. My mind went blank. I was lost for words. " Y-Yeah, actually. But if you want it, you can take it... " I mumbled shyly. " Nah, it's fine. I can borrow it next week. " He smiled again. I felt my cheeks go red hot and my hands started to shake. " R-Right. Um, thanks. " I managed to say.
I walked slowly to the line to get that book, but suddenly I felt someone like up behind me. I turned my head and my hair sliced the air. I turned back. Him again. " Hello. " " Hi... " I whispered. " I see you stalking me... " I froze. I wasn't prepared to deal with him. Again.
" Why? " He asks. He just had to. Great. I cleared my head. " I just do. " Wow. That one moment I've been preparing for all my life yet... I said something completely wrong. Wow. Just wow.
He tilted his head like there was something off with me. I wouldn't blame him. There was always at least one thing wrong with me... No matter what." Everyone has a reason... " He asked. My stomach twisted up in knots and I was feeling uneasy all over again.
I looked away. He leaned closer. " What's yours? " The question made me feel dumb. For once, I didn't know the answer to a question. I decide to blame it all on my Friend. " It's not me. It's Rachel's fault! " I pointed to my left as if Rachel were there. " That's John... " He said slowly. " Oh, " I whispered in embarrassment. " Sorry John. " I gave a sort of shrug.
I noticed him trying sign language. Apparently, there was a poster of the Sign language Alphabet in front of me. " You're practicing sign language? " He ignored me. Wow. I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to the book. Just then, I felt his presence near me.
I saw his silhouette from the corner of my eye. Oh no, not him. I clenched my fists. I turned around slowly. I have Him an " I kinda care but at the same time kinda don't " look and signed my book out.
