Gaston opened the door, walking into the Tavern. Jade trailing behind. A sour look spread on his face. "Now what is going on!", his voice boomed. Jade felt a bit scared. Gaston was angry and she knew that his temper was short. And it was already running quite thin. Jade took some steps back. LeFou pushed through the crowd. Gaston bent down and LeFou whispered in his ear.
Whatever LeFou told Gaston, it wasn't good. "He's back! I thought we killed him! How dare he come back here! I'll slit his throat"! Gaston ran out the doors of the Tavern. Everyone started to leave the Tavern to find out what Gaston was so angry about. Gaston reached for a man. "How dare you come back for what you've done! Haven't you done enough"! Gaston lifted the man off the ground. Jade pushed through the crowd.
"Gaston! Put him down!", Jade demanded. Everyone gasped. They took a step back. Gaston froze and slowly turned his head. "You don't know what he's done"! "Then tell me!", she retorted. "He hurt some people that were very dear to me. And I'll kill him for it". Gaston started to choke him. The man started laughing. "No"! An older women stepped out of the crowd. She had a chunk of her face indented due to lose of flesh. Gaston turned his head to face her. It started to rain.
"Mum! Gaston clearly isn't pleased to see me eh", he forced out. "Gaston put him down"! The women came up and smacked him upside the head. "Hey"! Gaston dropped the man. "Mum! Do you know what he's done! Don't you remember the things he's done"! Gaston was furious. Jade was taken aback. That was his mother.
"And despite the apologies you still tried to kill him! Antoine has done wrong, and he apologized!", his mother screamed. Gaston was fuming at this point. "Antoine deserves to have every rib ripped out of his body"! "Oh baby brother still mad at me. Ha Gaston! Your pathetic!", Antoine yelled. Gaston took out a gun and aimed it at Antoine. He shot beside his shoulder. "That's for mum". He shot again on the other side. "That's for me. And this, this is for the soldiers". Gaston shot him in the leg. Antoine cried out.
"Gaston"! Jade cried. She ran and shoved him. He didn't budge. His hair fell in his face. Antoine cried in pain. "Get the doctor", his mother cried. But Gaston seethed. He was angry. He was enraged. Jade was enraged as well. "Gaston! You're no Saint either"! He turned and grabbed her by the waist roughly. "I don't care Jade! We all know I'm far better then him"! Antoine laughed. "Tell her Gaston, tell her about what you threatened to do. But I guess it won't take long before she finds out. Listen sweetheart, run away. Run away because he is so narcissistic, the minute you disagree he'll beat you", they lifted Antoine as he laughed like mad.
Jade looked at Gaston. He looked as if he were ready to kill. "What did you vow to do Gaston?", she whispered. Gaston made eye contact with her. His eyes narrowed. "Just never mind Jade", he warned. "Gaston! What did you vow to do"! "Make you the perfect little housewife! My perfect little housewife! Mine"! Jade slapped him. To some it wasn't a big deal that Gaston wanted her to be a housewife. But to Jade it was. She never wanted to be the little housewife that cooked and cleaned and rubbed their husbands feet all the time. Sure maybe sometimes, but not an expectation. She wanted to be married, but not like that.
Gaston turned his head to face her. It was raining harder now. Jade's tears mixed with the rain. "Gaston, you self absorbed jerk! I would've hoped you learned by now! Especially after I gave you a second chance"! Jade was angry, sad, confused, and disgusted all at the same time. "How dare you hit me!", He boomed. "I am the village hero! The most perfect man alive and you hit me! Jade you've got quite a lot coming for you!", he hissed. Jade laughed. "You think you're perfect! Ha! You've got a lot coming for you Gaston"!
Jade went to walk away but Gaston gripped her arm. "Jade! Stop walking away! You can't just walk away from me"! She turned to face him and ripped her arm from his grasp. "Watch me". Jade walked off. "Jade"! She wiped her face. Your okay Jade you're okay, she repeated to herself.
*The next morning*
Jade was walking in the village. Grabbing a few things for her mother. "Jade!", LeFou called. Jade huffed in annoyance and turned to face him. "Yes LeFou". He took in some heavy breaths. "I know Gaston wasn't the most pleasant yesterday. But he's a really nice guy. Husband material, eh?", LeFou nudged her elbow with a smile. Jade laughed out loud. Catching everyone's attention. Jade held her gut and wiped a tear from her eye.
"Gaston, husband material? LeFou you make me laugh". He frowned. "I was being quite serious. Gaston is head over heels for you". Jade crossed her arms over her chest. "Oh really"? "Yes, he's never been so crazy about a girl before". "'Scuse me, Sorry Madame. Sorry I must get through". Gaston was making his way over. Run! Jade thought. "Please Jade, just give hi another chance". She shook her head. "Nah, I'm good". She started backing away. LeFou pleaded with her, but Gaston was getting closer. "LeFou I have things I need to do, but I really enjoyed talking to you". "But...". "Bye LeFou!", she shouted.
Gaston laid eyes on her. "Jade"! She rolled her eyes and moved her way through the crowd. At one point she took someone's hat to stay hidden from Gaston. "Jade! Come here"! His hand gently took a hold of her shoulder. She turned with an annoyed expression on her face. "What Gaston"? He held out a bouquet of roses. "My apology". She looked down at them then back up to his face. She swatted them out of his hands. "Apology unaccepted".
