I felt numb. Well, more specifically my arm did. I slowly sat up in the hospital bed. It was quite an effort. I was attached to various machines, as my memories suddenly rushed towards the front of my mind, the slow full beep in the background rapidly increased, causing the machine to send out a ear piercing shrill. Before the nurse reached the door, my shaggy haired cop came falling through the door.
Rushing to my side he calmed the heavy beating of my heart, placing gentle caresses on my cheek.
The nurse followed soon after assuring me my vitals were all good. I cautiously asked Deeks if he could step outside. Hesitantly, he obliged my request.
"Is my baby okay?" I asked hastily as soon as the door clipped shut.
"Madam, your baby is perfectly fine. However, it is recommended that you remain here overnight for observational purposes, does that work for you?" She responded with a tone of happiness.
"Oh yes, that is fine. Do you mind sending my partner back in on your way out out, please?"
With that she left.
Deeks rushed in, falling through the door.
"Kens, is everything ok?" He exclaimed.
"I need to tell you something but you have to promise me you will process it and listen to everything." I said.
"Okay. I promise." He said rather quickly.
"I was personally very surprised by this news as well, and I was not expecting and it is totally okay if you want nothing to do with me after I tell you because you were not expecting it and we did leave us in a not so great way" I started waffling.
"Just spit it out, Kens"
"Impregnant" I said quickly
"What did you say Kens?"
Taking a few deep breaths and turning my gaze towards the opposite wall, I slowly said "I'm pregnant!" I could help the smile that graced my face as I said it.
Deeks sat dumbfounded, speechless.
"Seriously?" He said uncertain.
