Kai x Clay Ninjago/Nexo Knights (Phoenixshipping)

Nightmares

Kai's pov
We both made it to Ninjago, I feel Clay slightly squeeze my hand, I decided to take him somewhere nice and I led him through the city to a hotel, he looks down at the handle of his bag and squeezes it "Hey calm down, think of it as a vacation" he frowns slightly "Last time I've been in a hotel was awful... I have to keep giving tips for them even if I carried my own bags and clean my own room" wow that sounds horrible "Don't worry it's not like that here" I say "Why do we have to be in a hotel? Can't we just go and explore more of Ninjago?" He asks "Well we need a place to stay and we can do that later" he nods "That seems reasonable" I talk with the reception guy, he gives us both keys, "room 666" I say "Wow there are that many rooms?" Says Clay "yup, but don't worry it's nearby so it won't be a problem" I pick him up bridal style "I can walk you know" he says "yeah well you look so much cuter this way" I kiss his cheek, then carry him to our room, it was a surprisingly quick trip, I put him down on the bed and go over to our door and lock it "What are we going to do Kai?" Asks Clay "Idk, relax, maybe take another nap" he sighs "I already slept enough, I want to see more of this place, will we get to go?" He asks "yes we will, but you can't go around by yourself in Ninjago" I sit down beside him "I'm also tired because I almost got killed by a psychopath" I wrap both my arms around Clay "btw you still owe me five minutes" Clay sighs "ok but do you really have to hold me while you sleep?" I lay down on the bed and holds Clay tightly "yes, it's just you're softer than a pillow" he blushes and kisses my cheek "ok, but only five minutes, we already slept enough"

***1 hour later***

Clay's pov
I stand in the forest, the forest of Knighton. How did I get here? I walk around, everything was so calm, though I couldn't smell the fresh air, it was quiet... too quiet..., all I could see was the forest. I walk, even run but I always see the same scene, sometimes I end up elsewhere, but why am I here? I slow down a bit, I smell... smoke, I look around me, some corners turn dark while other spots turn a bright scarlet, A forest fire. I ran, I saw many trees burning, coming down getting into my path. I jump over logs and obstacles, I cough at the ash and smoke everywhere, I could see, I could run, but where would I run too? What if I'm trapped? I find a dirt road, I run down the road hoping to find someone, maybe some water to put out the fire, or something! I continue to run, I look behind me, the fire catches up and most of the forest is ash. I see a few buildings ahead, I look up around the sky, it's grey and black from the smoke. I keep running till I made it... I look around to see buildings, homes, stores, on fire... I look straight ahead and see the King's castle on fire, some of it's towers falling off, I see a figure, It looked like Jestro! He runs into the castle I run after him, maybe I could save him. I run after him, calling out his name! He just stops and stands in the middle of the throne room, he looks at me... but this isn't Jestro anymore. The person staring at me was Kai. The fire closes in on us, Kai was calm while I panicked, I shouted to him while the fire got closer, when it got to him, it didn't burn him, it  shimmered and circled around him. The fire cracks and makes Kai look like he's glowing, I could see the fire in Kai's eyes. The fire... it's almost like it's protecting him, the fire closes in on me, Kai sticks out his hand, "Trust me" he says, while his eyes glimmer and glow like fire, I decided not to take his hand, I don't understand why I didn't take it, or why I should. The fire closes in on me and starts burning my clothing, Kai frowns as a curtain of fire covers him, I see him walk away "better luck next time" he says, while he walks off calmly, I could barely see him anymore, then I get blinded by the red, by the orange, the scarlet, the smoke and ash...

      "Wake up"
I hear someone say
        "WAKE UP!"

I wad scared to open my eyes, but I did anyway, I saw Kai's face above me, worried "Oh thank goodness you're ok" I sit up while Kai sits on my waist "K-Kai? What happened?" I ask, Kai sighs "You were having a nightmare so I thought I should wake you up, I tried talking and shaking you but you wouldn't, I freaked out and got scared I... I wasn't sure if you..." I kiss him and he looked at me still upset but calmed down a little "Don't scare me like that again" he says... I've been having that dream a lot lately ever since I met Kai but the first time  was when I got back to my home, he said something different, he said "Come back to me" then afterwards I've just been having the same forest fire nightmare except it wasn't bad and it was just everything burning to ash, but this time everything was trying to kill me and it was all intense, "What time is it?" I ask "it's 5 pm" what?! We slept for 2 hours?! "I know it's a little bit more than five minutes, but now that we slept we can go explore Ninjago, ok?" He smiles slightly, I nod, hoping to see more and tell others about this place "sure, lets go now!" He smiles warmly and grabs my hand "Where do we go first Kai?" I ask "probably places you've never known" he replies and we walk out the hotel and walk off into the city and down the roads leading to who knows where... I still wonder what would've happened if I had taken his hand in my dream like I am now, I squeeze his hand slightly, maybe when I fall asleep I should take it this time, maybe that way, my nightmares will end
