Chapter XIV: A Terrible Price to Pay

     Viviana starts to discover new clues about herself and the people around her to the point where she makes shocking discoveries of the demons she trusted and the people she thought she knew; so when she decides to spy on Reina and sees her talking with Rayne about stealing her throne and getting rid of her. But that's not all she also sees Rayne which shocks her in a way as he speaks to a white light in Lucifer's bedroom, and she discovers more as she continues to watch even to see that Kale was betraying Lucifer, and then Rayne notices her what will happen to Vivian then and what happened to Lucifer.

     While walking around the corridors I noticed as Kale was rushing towards Luce's room holding a glass of water and he looked panicked almost like he would cry, and that led me to believe that maybe something was wrong with Lucifer. I then followed Kale back to Lucifer's room and before I reached the door way I heard noises and a lot of people talking at once but there was one voice I didn't make out but it sounded so familiar but I didn't know why? But regardless everyone's voices were muffled even with my vampire hearing I couldn't make out anything at all it was like there was water drowning it out, but I did hear someone gasping for air and then a loud thud. Once that was over I was able to make out 3 voices that I knew so well...and yet I began to wonder why they were in Luce's room, "Lord Rayne are you all right?" That voice belonged to Reina, "Yes I'm fine...Kale bring me some water," I then realized why Kale was so panicked because it was for Rayne's sake not Luce's, and then I realized that Kale wAs also involved with Rayne. But I didn't get why he would risk betraying Lucifer for Rayne it really didn't add up, I don't think Rayne would give him a seat in power if anything he was going to be another disposable servant to him. Then I kept on listening in case I found out anything interesting, "Zedrick how are the plans going?" I heard someone walking around in circles I could only imagine that it was Zedrick, "Well aside for the minor set backs we are going according to King Solomon's plan." I began to wonder who the hell Solomon was and why did Zedrick called him King so distastefully, "I'm not doing this for Solomon I'm doing this for revenge and he's the only one that knows how my father ticks." Now that Solomon guy was really peaking my interest but I didn't know who he was, "Some Angel...to think that he and Satan were the two original Angels...but then again Lucifer was beloved by God more than Michael was." That's when it hit me the rainy day the song in my head; 'one the night that you were born both Heaven and Hell had a war...if only you had forsaken your own life then love wouldn't have blossomed and the curse would not have been made, by the promise of an Angel and the oath of vengeance by a demon the curse began forsaking all the Lucifer's to endless and eternal suffering.' I started to tear up for some reason remembering the missing parts and bits of the Lost Legacy in Angel history concerning the curse. Then I began to walk away from Lucifer's room I felt like a dagger had been driven into my heart...it felt so heavy I could barely breathe and I began to lean on the walls for support so I could get to my room. "Are you all right? Queen Viviana!..Queen Viviana Please hold on!" I then felt someone carrying me and by the scent I knew who it was, "Rion...I'm fine...take me to my room," I couldn't see his face but I was pretty sure he wasn't going to listen to me. "No way! Your as white as snow I'm taking you to the Tree before you're completely drained of Leif," I didn't complain and even if I wanted too I was too weak so I let Rion do what he pleased. 

POV: Prince Rayne

   "Is something wrong Prince Rayne?" I looked over at Kale and I waved him away, "I'm fine Kale just a bit distracted...take care of my brother I'm going to go get some fresh air," he bowed and walked over towards Zedrick and Reina who I left to figure out how to deal with my knocked out brother. When I reach the corridor I saw as Viviana's silhouette casted a shadow as she ran away, now I had to chase after her, "This should be interesting," from behind me Kale crept up, "what will be interesting my Lord?" I looked at Kale and smiled at him which made him blush but I continued to walk away I knew where our beloved Queen was going, so the hunt was on and as I made it a couple of steps I felt a surge of electricity coming from a dark part of the corridor. "Kale,..." Kale immediately came to my side and as he was going to ask me what was wrong he felt the same presence I did, "what is that my Lord?" I was just as clueless as Kale but I had a feeling it wouldn't let me pass thru because it was protecting VivianA from me, "Kale get everything ready for today's ceremony...today's the day that I will be set free." Since dark shadow made me realized that Vivian was really Viviana and I knew all too well who it was protecting her so that I wouldn't get what I needed to destroy my banishment contract. "Its nice to see you father!" I heard the shadow laugh and then from the darkness stepped out my father breathing and alive, "You don't seem happy to see me my child," now it was my turn to laugh, "I would think you would stop acknowledging me as your child the day you banished me." He looked confused but of course he did, he didn't want me to kill him right there and then, "Please it's not like you didn't deserve it Rayne you were found guilty...I didn't want you to end up like your older brother." When he mentioned older brother I didn't understand, "That idiot you call son isn't really your son...just another forsaken Lucifer," he looked at me almost like I was missing something. "I see...so she really did manage to erase all of your memories of your older brother," it was seriously starting to annoy me that I didn't understand what he was talking about, "what are you talking about old man?" Kale stuck closer I had forgotten that he was there, "your older brother Reizel...the Demon Eater," I knew who the demon eater was, but to think that he was my brother, "you're lying...the Demon Eater is a true Demon of Hell..." My father nodded, "yes...but he is also your brother he became that way...actually both your actions are alike...maybe soon you will also become a Demon Eater, and then what you will be left to worship...yourself." Something in my fathers tone or even words struck a cord I remembered something so distant a beautiful memory almost, "I banished you to protect you and to keep you safe." Suddenly guilt began to form, "What are you talking about it would have been better if you had sent me to hell instead!" My father walked towards me and slapped me, "You are my son I have no need to send my last child to Hell to burn for an eternity!" For some reason that slap made me so angry, "Well then you will have to live with that in your conscience now father." I disappeared using my shadow so that finally I could show my father what kind of monster he has created how he made me suffer for all of these years that he banished me from my home, I will get my hands on Vivian's blood one way or another.
