chapter 1; Rachel's POV

Hi, my name is Rachel Jackson. I'm a 16 year old girl with a not so good life. First off, I am abused by my mother. My father died when I was 5. She blames me because he saved me from getting hit by a car. I blame myself too. If only I had looked both ways, or if he didn't see me. I also cut myself, I have been to rehab at least 4 times in my life so far, and lastly, I am anorexic.

I'm in 10th grade and I only weigh 85 pounds. Right now I'm at a park sitting underneath a large oak tree. I have a razor in my hand, and I was crying. My mother had just beaten me. I held the sharp object to my wrist and drew it across, letting the blood trickle down my arm.

I heard footsteps coming my way. I hurried up and hid the blade, wiped the blood away, and pulled my sleeves down.

"Are you alright, love?" a deep voice asked me. I looked up and saw none other than Harry Styles from the biggest boy band ever, One Direction.

" I'm fine," I whispered, hiding my shock.

" No your not," he replied, sitting down next to me. Fuck! He knew I was lying.

"You were crying, and you have bruises everywhere," he said, lifting my face up so I was looking at him. He looked down and saw my sleeves were stained red. I looked down, too. Then back up to him.

"Don't cry, love," he said. I didn't realize I was crying until I felt the tears."Why did you harm yourself?" he asked, worry in his voice. I just shook my head, not wanting to answer. I looked back down again.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Rachel," I mumbled, still looking down.

"Rachel. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he stated.

'He thought I was beautiful.' I thought, in my head.

"Rachel, look at me," he whispered. I looked back up at him, my vision was getting blurry. Then, suddenly everything went black.
