Feelings

     It was around midnight when you woke up, the cool breeze from outside brushing your face. You weren't sure what exactly stirred you awake in the first place, but when you sat up to look around, you realized that Hidan was gone. Kakazu was still sleeping in the corner of the room and snoring loudly. Examining Hidan's bed, you noticed his cloak was still there, but not the rest of his stuff. The sliding doors to the backyard of the inn were open. Your curiosity got the best of you and you walked outside. The moon was full, lighting up the night sky like a lantern floating on a lake. "Hidan...?" you whispered in hopes that he was near by. No answer. Barefoot, you stepped into the grass.
The night air was chilly and it left goosebumps running down your arms as the wind picked up. With Hidan still nowhere in sight, you continued to search for him. The backyard of the inn itself was small but there was a wooden fence with a gate surrounding it. Towards the back of the fence was a gate with the latch slightly unhinged. "Hidan, where on earth have you gone off to..,"you muttered under your breath. Well, no use in giving up now; you were already set on figuring out what he was up to. The gate creaked loudly as slowly pushed it open.
It opened to a small field surrounded by trees that swayed ominously in the breeze. Although Hidan wasn't anywhere around, there did seem to be path made in the grass that led into the woods. You rolled your eyes and groaned, "Oooof course, just another creepy forest to add to the growing list of creepy forests I've been to in the past couple weeks." It was almost funny how much your life had changed since your small time waitress job, but at this point you were getting used to the change of pace and stepped briskly into the thick line of trees. The glow of the moon dimmed as you ventured ahead.
     Almost as soon as you lost sight of the path you had been taking, you heard the gravely whispers of Hidan close by. You opened your mouth to call out to him but stopped yourself when you considered there might be a reason he was hiding out in these woods away from you and Kakuzu. With gentle steps you wandered toward the sound of his voice. "I'm sorry Jashin, I know my sins are unforgivable...I know my desires for her are wrong....but they're so strong...," he moaned. You came upon a small clearing, not unlike the one you had met Hidan and Kakuzu all that time ago. Bathing in the moonlight sat Hidan with his back facing you. "I will find a way...a way to make her mine eternally and remain faithful to you, my Lord...," his voice was unusually shaky, and you took a sharp breath in when you realized he might have been talking about you.
     Your noise alerted him and he turned to find the source of it. Through teeth he growled, "who the fuck is sneaking around out here?" He grabbed his scythe that sat by his side and stood up abruptly. There was no point in keeping hidden at this point, so you stepped forward with your hands up and revealed yourself to him. "Hidan it's just me," you said cautiously, "I'm sorry for slinking around, but I woke up without you by my side and couldn't help but worry about where you had gone off to..." His face twisted from that of rage to confusion. "Oh, (y/n)...it's just you," he lowered his scythe and slumped back down onto the dirt, "sorry 'bout that."
     "Is it alright if I sit with you or should I just head back to the room?" you asked. He looked down and thought for a moment. Never before had you seen him so morose; he was usually maniacally happy or more so often, grumpy. When he looked back up at you he reached a hand out to you as if he was asking for help in getting up. You took his hand, but instead of getting up, he pulled you down on top of him. "Nah," he said, "you can stay right here with me." Although you had been in much more intimate situations with him before, being on top of him like this still made you blush. His arms wrapped around you and he ran a hand through your hair. "You didn't happen to hear any of that, did you (y/n)? All that stuff before...?" He asked. You could tell he was a little embarrassed so to save him the awkwardness you shook your head. "No not really, I just heard some mumbling." "You're not a good liar, y'know," he grinned and rolled you over so he was on top of you.
      You rolled your eyes and sighed, "okay okay fine...I did, but I don't really get what it's all about. Were you talking about...me...?" Hidan's piercing eyes stared deeply into yours. "C'mooonnn, who else would I be talking about?" His deep voice awakened the butterflies in your stomach and you tried to hide the flush on your cheeks. You caught your breath and said, "yeah you're right...I just don't understand...am I really that irresistible to you? I realize we've been intimate before but I didn't think you actually...cared about me enough to question your own religion." "I won't lie," he responded, "I've been tempted by women before, but...none of them have ever made me want to sin so badly before. You're so...beautiful and I've never seen a woman pursue Jashinism as quickly and eagerly as you." He brought his face close and pressed his forehead to yours.
     "How can you be so sure of me though...? I'm just a girl...and you...you're practically a god compared to me." Hidan scoffed as his calm expression turned to disgust. "Don't speak so blasphemously, (y/n). You and I both know there's only one true god!" He said rather loud, making you wince. When he saw the discomfort in your eyes, he took a deep breath and nuzzled his face into your neck. His lips brushed your skin as he said, "I'm sorry...I shouldn't be so harsh on you, I know you're still new to all of this. It's only been a short while but I feel so connected to you regardless. Being with you makes me feel things I've never felt before and I can't help but...want to explore those feelings...," he trailed off and his words became kisses. His tongue slid gently up your neck and to your jaw. "There's something that I'd like to try, (y/n)."
