"This is so tiring." That were the thoughts, which ran through Kris' mind during the whole morning. He had decided to show up at school again. He just felt like that when he was sitting in his room last night. Now he wasn’t sure what he had thought back then. But anyway he made it to school this morning.

It was fine to leave the house. He still wasn’t comfortable when he left his apartment. Though to moving to a different town, changing his name, signing in to a new school and so on, he could feel a huge insecurity settling in his chest when he was out. Also he hadn’t been to school in about 3 months.

But slowly he couldn’t stand it anymore to just stay inside all day, afraid to go out. He usually wasn’t the guy to be afraid easily. He was tall and anything but tiny or shy but it was him who caused him to shiver every time he thought back and remembered.

He had to finally get over that.

Grabbing his bag he slowly got up, he had made the first day of school. The introducing was kind of awkward though but he felt comfortable in his new class. Each student was really friendly and quite a few offered him to show him around. He didn’t say yes to anyone yet. He had still troubles with making contacts. He would curse himself for letting him destroy everything he had, he used to be very social and loved it to spend his days outside.

He didn’t like how it all had changed by now. Also he always tried his best to  not think about the past anymore. Especially not of that guy. With a quiet sigh he glanced to the ground, continuing his walk, during which he kept kicking an empty soda can in front of him. He had to forget that. He really wanted to.

With a surprised gasp Kris slightly jumped when he could roughly feel somebody's hand on his shoulder, snapping him out of his thoughts as the person, who had a quite tight grip on his shoulder, pulled him back, causing him to stumble backwards and finally fell down. He flinched a second time when he hit the ground and even a third time when a car rushed past him, crashing the soda can, which had been laying on the spot where Kris had been standing until he was caused to fall backwards. He hadn’t looked up yet and just after some time he realised that the person might just have saved his life.

As he looked up his eyes met with a pair of almond shaped dark brown eyes. For a moment he was simply stunned by them and couldn’t do anything but stare. With a blink he realised that the boy yet had crouched down next to him, asking a bunch of questions. Slowly Kris managed to get what the boy was saying and tried to tell that he was fine but the other one wouldn’t listen and just continue to apologize that he made him fall down.

Kris decided to shut the almost panicking boy up, by raising his voice. Again he said that he wasn’t hurt at all and after he had gotten up from the ground he slightly bowed and thanked the other one for preventing him from being hit by a car.

The boy seemed to be pretty relieved and gave Kris a small but warm smile. When it hit Kris that a lot of people stopped walking and stood around them, staring, he became really uncomfortable. When he let his vision go past the crowd, he was able to figure out a person standing further away than the others. He wasn’t sure but when the person, who was obviously a guy, pulled his hood deeper to cover his face Kris was pretty sure that he had seen pitch black hair fall into the guy's forehead. He knew that hair too well. Faster than he could react he felt panic come up from his stomach. He again thanked the boy and turned around almost running off. That wasn’t even possible. China was so big and he had moved away. It wasn’t possible that he just had seen who he thought he had. More like he was praying that he just got fooled by his mind.

A quiet scream escaped his mouth when again he felt a hand resting on his shoulder. He turned around immediately, looking into dark brown eyes with a shocked expression on them. The guy from just a few minutes ago apologized again. Kris breathing was still going quick but he tried to calm himself.

He listened when the other boy, who introduced himself as Yixing, explained that he was worried when Kris just ran off, so he followed him and wanted to make sure that he reaches his home safe. Kris again thanked him and wanted to explain that he'll make it alone to his home but Yixing was persistent. Kris felt uncomfortable to let someone know where he lived just now but the shorter boy seemed to really just want to help so he accepted his company and the rest of the way he listened to his talking, just sometimes he gave short answers. Actually he felt less insecure when he was walking with the boy he just met but still. He always glanced around, making sure that no one followed them or spied on them. He knew that Yixing had already noticed his behaviour, which was actually kind of strange, and he was very thankful that the smaller one just accepted it without asking.

When they had reached the small apartment of Kris, he again thanked and bowed, making his way to unlock his door. He turned around once more when he heard the soft voice of the other boy saying his name in a questioning way. Yixing gave him a shy smile and a small paper. He had written his phone number on it and now he asked Kris to text him if he wanted to walk to school together the next day. Just then Kris realised that the boy was in his class as well. He felt kind of embarrassed that he realised it this late. Yixing had been sitting in the back. He was a really quiet boy, not talking much during class but he actually seemed to be really nice.

Kris just nodded and with a quick smile he waved goodbye to Yixing, making his way inside.

Plopping down on the couch he thought about what Yixing had said. It would be great to make friends again after such a long time of isolation but there was still a part of him, telling him that he shall not become close to anyone. It could still be dangerous, not just for him but for anyone who he'd get close to. With a groan he brushed that thought off. He would let the tiny boy accompany him on the way to school tomorrow. He must start over now. And for that it would be a good start if he'd make friends.
