"They ask why we fight. How we can do this every day. Just how? Suffer and Agony and Pain. Day for day. And we still live? We still can laugh over a stupid joke. So, just how?
-There is a time, when you've seen too much suffer and pain and too much death. There is a time, when you stop caring about this because you just can't. You're too hurt, to empty to feel bad for everything."
It was just like a normal day. "Normal" isn't an expression for this anymore. We're in this camp and wait. We're waiting to go back in the war, to go back to fight and to suffer and to kill. To see our men being killed. That just isn't an expression for "normal".
But for us, it was normal.
Life in war was hard. Life as a soldier was hard. But our company was the best. The fellowship we all had was unbelievable. Amazing. We were a group, just like a family. We knew us. We loved us. That was the only thing that kept us going. Our Company, our men kept us going. And that was a really big wonder, you must know.
They all were the bravest men I've ever known.
They were here in war, just that was very very brave.
