"Extraction. What do you know about extraction?", Joe Solomon inquired. Forgetting yet again we weren't his students anymore.
Zach sighed heavily, growing more impatient with each passing question. We had been there for hours, waiting diligently for him to hand us our mission . "You remove the subject as quickly and safety as possible" Zach sarcastically replied. "Is there an actual meaning for this or did you just miss me, Joe?". Patience definitely isn't one of his many talents. We had been aching for a new mission — for the chance to prove ourselves.
Walking back into the room I lowered myself onto the desk beside Zach. He flashed me his signature smile as Joe turned away. "I just called them. Macey's on her own mission in Barcelona, something about tracking down a terrorist, but Bex and Liz are free and on their way".
"Great. As I was trying to explain to Zach, all of you will be taking a person of interest into protective custody. You up to it?". Zach jumped up with a new excitement burning in his eyes.
"Of course we are . . .", he said turning back to me. "Right, Gallagher Girl?".
"Absolutely. You couldn't stop me if you wanted to", I teased, ready for the thrill of a challenge. Since leaving the academy we'd both been on a few minor missions together, but nothing overly challenging.
At once our heads turned toward the door. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, two silhouettes appeared, almost as if they were ninjas - which in a way, they kind of are.
Bex and Liz threw their heads back and laughed after seeing our shocked faces. "We were in the neighborhood . . .", her gaze swept across the room, taking in every detail in a matter of seconds the way we'd been trained. She held her arms open for a hug. "I here you need our help".
