Getting up for school that morning was worse than I expected. Not only was my night filled with nightmares from the movie when I was sleeping, but when I wasn't sleeping, I couldn't get my mind off of my whole weekend. At some parts I thought Luke and I hanging out was nice, but at other times he was a complete pig and I couldn't stand him.
What really confused me was when Luke wasn't being a pig, he was actually really nice, and when he kissed me at the mini golf course..
I shook the thought out of my head, he's a jock and sure as hell doesn't care about me.
I figured that I should just go back to my normal schedule, and act like what happened this weekend didn't happen. So as I walked into the school I made sure I was focused on today's algebra lesson and not Luke Obenham.
The halls were bustling with teenagers probably talking about Jett's party. Oh, and you can be sure I didn't say a word to Jett this morning. The only interaction we really had was when I got into his truck. He tried several times to talk to me, to apologize in some way, but I didn't even bother to look at him. When he parked his truck I got out and walked away from him before he could grab me and try to say something.
I made my way to my locker, looking around once to see if Jess was around. We usually meet at our lockers in the morning. I spotted Jess making out with Axel down the hall a bit. I sighed, rolled my eyes, and opened my locker. I put my sack lunch into my locker and pulled out my phone. I shot a quick text to Jess and then slid it back into my pocket.
To: Jess
I hope you like the taste of Axel's tonsils.
I set my bag in my locker and made sure I had all my assignments I needed for class. I was really just passing the time until Jessica and Axel stopped choking each other. I glanced at them again and they still seemed in full throttle make out so I decided I should just meet her at the library. I zipped up my bag and closed my locker to see Luke Obenham standing there. I'm sorry, when did my life become a movie?
"Hiya." He smiles.
"H-Hi." I reply, barely audible. I give him a small nod and then throw my bag on my shoulder, walking towards the library.
"Hey, wait." He says, walking after me. I pick up the pace a little.
You don't wanna be involved with him.. I tell myself, weaving through the crowd.
"Abby, hey, wait up." I turn around, but can't see him in the crowd. Good, I lost him. When I turn back around though I come face to face with the boy I'd like to be avoiding.
"Excuse me." I say, looking down and going around him.
"Did I do something wrong?" He asks before I can get away, but I just act like I didn't hear it, and keep walking.
"Abigail!" He yells across the crowd. I can see a few eyes turn towards the yell, but I keep moving.
Don't cause a scene..
I'm almost to the library..
I turn the corner, hoping Luke just finally left me alone. I turn to look around me, and don't see him.
Phew..
"Oof!" I exclaim as I run into someone. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I mumble, cheeks turning red. I look up to face the person I just ran into.
