Beth and I looked at Dale.
"I didn't see him?" I said.
"I don't think you saw him that day" he said confidently.
"Oh" I said blankly. I have to think of a way to make them let this go.
"I have a feeling he's following us"
"Are you sure it was the same person?" I asked, hiding the nervousness.
"Looked like him. And most importantly, he was facing us."
"That's scary" said Beth from the passenger seat.
"What color Hummer are you talking about?" asked Patrick after he was told about yesterdays notice.
"A black one. Why?" Dale said crouching his eyebrows.
"I can see a black Hummer eleven or twelve feet from our car."
All three of us looked behind. Damn right.
What now?
"That IS the Hummer we saw!" Dale said excitedly.
I looked front. Unable to think what to do. So I messaged him.
"They spotted you"
As everyone's attention was on the Hummer, no one noticed me messaging.
"I know" He replied moments after.
"What now?" I messaged again.
He didn't reply after that.
"He's slowing down!" Dale yelled.
My racing heart slowed down. I looked behind again and relief ran down my spine.
"I think he understood that we saw him" Dale said sitting properly.
"I guess so" said Patrick, "let's get Melanie home first"

After reaching home, we faced Jeremy who was about to slip his tongue.
"Where's AI-?
"Jeremy, I had a panic attack and I don't feel so well."
Luckily no one noticed.
"Let's go home now. Melanie should rest." Patrick said and turned. Beth was waiting in the car but Dale was here.
"I want to stay and make sure you're okay" Dale said.
No no you can't stay. What if Aiden comes while he's here?
"Thank you Dale but I think Jeremy can do that"
"Sure" said my utterly dumb brother.
I headed towards my room upstairs and freshened myself. But I couldn't sit patiently thinking about Aiden. I tried to reach his cell but couldn't. He needs to know that Dale is in the house.
"Hey" Dale said and entered the room. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm-" I let out a breath. "I'm okay I guess"
My head was spinning. Low pressure was getting the best of me. And after some time, my body loosened up and I saw nothing but darkness.
I woke up God knows when but with two heads shouting over my face.
"Melanie!"
"Melanie wake up!"
"Can you hear me?!"
I was constantly being shaked.
"Yeah" I said in a low voice and hoped that they would hear.
"I need to eat something that's all."
"Dale, I think you should go now" my dear brother said at last.
"Call me when you're alright and awake okay?"
I don't like being told about anything. It makes me claustrophobic. I know Dale was just worried about me and wanted to make sure that I was alright. But I can't help myself.
Dale was about to leave but stopped almost immediately.
"Who are you?" he said to someone outside the door of my room.
"That is none of your business" I heard a voice that almost made my heart stopped beating.
It was Aiden.
"You-you were the one who was following us. You are the guy in the Hummer! And you show up here and tell me that you are none of my business?!"
"Because I am none of your damn business." He said and entered the room. Then he showed Dale his ID.
"Let it go, both of you!"
"What Melanie? I can't understand"
"Calm down already Dale"
Dale sat on the couch near the window but Aiden didn't.
"I may be in danger for the fact that I look a lot like missing girl Rosemary. The FBI needs to guard me because of several other reasons which are confidential right now. And the reason I didn't tell any of you is because the whole thing is very dangerous and confidential. Aiden is an agent who plays the role of a bodyguard."
Dale sat there in silence. But then he stood up and walked towards the door.
"Dale!" I called.
"Now you have something to say?" he said angrily.
"Don't tell anyone."
He left without answering.
Aiden then came towards me.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Had a panic attack"
"What were you panicking about?!"
"Nothing that concerns you. Aiden, I need to rest."
"Okay" he whispered.
I could see how hurt he was but right then, I needed space. And I don't think anyone understood that.
