- Jasmine -
"Bitch don't act like you can't fucking move! Get the fuck out of the car now!" Roxie waited until everyone was out of the vehicle to climb to the backseat and tried to haul me out of the Denali.
Khandi took a moment to peer at me and noticed the dazed look in my eyes as my head rested on the back of the driver's seat."Wait Roxie." Khandi pulled her out of the vehicle. "She looks like she's about to pass out. I've got the combination already so just leave her in there and come help us get the shit."
"Man, fuck no!" Roxie wasn't having that. "We don't have time for all that. She needs to show us where the shit is at so we can be in and out this motherfucker." She tried to push Khandi off of her, but the grip Khandi had on her hooded sweatshirt was too strong.
Kyrielle squeezed between Roxie and Khandi and poked her head inside the vehicle. Stretching her hand out, she placed two fingers on the side of my neck. "Shit, her pulse is kind of weak Roxie." She assumed an air of concern.
Hell, I must've been looking dead to those hoes by the way they were all standing there, just gawking at me.
"Y'all bitches is tripping!" Roxie wriggled her way out of Khandi's clutches and pushed Kyrielle out of the way to reach into the vehicle.
Grabbing a fistful of my hair, Roxie dragged me out of the SUV and onto the ground.
"Ahhh!" I yelped in agony as my body collided with the pavement.
"We ain't got no time for this shit!" Roxie yelled to Kyrielle and Khandi.
The side of my body felt like someone had set a match to it as the jagged rocks embedded in the concrete tore through my flesh as Roxie continued to drag me toward Nique's stash spot... The old spot he once had me living in.
"Roxie you're doing too much," Kyrielle called out to Roxie as she and Khandi followed behind us.
"What the fuck are you tripping for?" Roxie paused in her tracks at the front door. "We supposed to be handling business and you in your feelings and shit." The grip Roxie had on my hair was becoming tauter as she continued to rant. "We got a fucking job to do and I ain't leaving 'til we get what we came here for. If you want to be a fucking boss you better start acting like one!"
"Baby, let's get one thing straight. The only reason I let you in my circle is because you my girl's people! You already know I can't stand your ass. So please don't think you can't be replaced ho!" Kyrielle ran up on Roxie as if she was about to start swinging on her.
"You two both need to shut the fuck up!" Khandi stepped between them. "Now is not the time or the place for this shit. Let's just get the shit and get the fuck out of here before someone sees us and call the police!"
She threw empty duffel bags at the both of them and that snapped them back to reality.
"Where's the key?" Roxie spoke calmly as she unwrapped my hair from around her knuckles and kneeled down to pick the duffle bag up off the ground.
"I got it," Kyrielle answered in a tone that was oozing with bitterness and walked past Roxie and I to open the door.
"Finally," Roxie exhaled before stepping over me to enter the house.
"Here, hold this for me." Kyrielle handed Khandi the empty duffle bag.
"Fuuuck!" I hollered as Kyrielle turned me onto my back and placed her arms under the pits of mine.
"Shut that shit up Jay," Kyrielle castigated while she hauled me through the door and into the living room.
Khandi stepped in behind us and flipped on the switch by the door to illuminate the dark room.
"Alright where's the shit?" Roxie wanted to know.
"I-it's..." I paused as a spasm of pain crept up my lower abdomen to the middle of my chest.
"C'mon bitch, we ain't got all fucking night," she growled.
I danced back and forth with consciousness before telling them, "In the dining room behind the china cabinet... there's a safe in the wall." Barely able to move, I strained to lift my blood-stained hand and pointed a finger in the right direction.
"Okay. You remember the combination code, right?" Kyrielle asked Roxie.
"Mm-hm," she quickly shook her head up and down.
"Alright good. Go check that shit out while I check out the rest of the house."
"You want me to stay and watch this ho?" she asked with a devious smile.
Kyrielle peeped the sly smile and changed her mind. "You know what Rox? I think I'll stay with her and you can search the house."
"You sure?" Roxie wanted to know.
"Yeah I'm sure." Kyrielle shook her head.
"Ain't you the one that was screaming about not having enough time?" Khandi reminded Roxie and before she had time to respond, Khandi added, "Alright then, so let's move!"
On that note, she made a dash for the hallway and Roxie was right on her heels.
"Look," Kyrielle said slightly above a whisper before stooping down beside me once she was sure no one was close enough to hear her. "I need you to cooperate with me here Jay."
Too weak to speak, I just laid there and stared at her.
"Listen to me Jasmine. I'm not playing with you, and I won't hesitate to put a bullet right through that brainless head of yours." The way she scowled as she spoke indicated that she meant every word.
"I-I'm sorry," I muttered as a single tear dropped down my cheek. My apology was genuine.
"I know." I saw the light from the chandelier suspended above us reflecting from the moisture in her eyes causing them to twinkle. "Damn it Jasmine! It wasn't supposed to go down like this," she sighed.
"Kyrielle, I..."
"Uhn-uhn," she halted me while shaking her head. "It's too late for all of that shit now. I just need you to tell me if there's anything else Nique's hiding up in here," she said between snuffles and dried her eyes on the sleeve of her sweatshirt.
"There's a b-briefcase under the floor boards... in the ma-master bedroom."
"Where at in the bedroom?"
"Under the bed..." My last words were faint as fatigue finally got the best of me. Hesitantly, I closed my eyes for what felt like the last time.
