It's been two days since I missed school. My temperature is still high so our doctor recommended that I should rest at home.

It's also been two days since Chad and I talked. And I haven't heard from him since then.

"Emily?" Baba Nancy knocked on the door and ducked her head in. "Someone's here to see you."

I sat up and fix my hair in hopes that it is him. My shoulders drop when Katie went in. She chuckles as she approach me. She must've noticed my action.

I should never expect him to pay me a visit. He will never be allowed here in this house.

"I'm sorry I'm not who you're hoping would come," she sat on my bed and smiles at me. "I came to tell you that you should come to school. I have no one to copy every Math class." Both of us laugh at what she said.

"Are you feeling better now?" She asked and holds my hand. I shook my head and pressed my lips together.

"I still feel like I can't get up. My temperature is still not normal."

"Well that's awful. I wish you'll be better soon. I have no one to talk to at school," she sighed.

"How... How's school?" I ask. I wanted to ask about Chad but since I am talking to Katie and she witnessed me crying because of Chad, I decided not to.

"Well... No one has seen him at school ever since your fight," she looks at me like she knows what I'm thinking. "I know you've been dying to ask me about him."

"Em, you know I don't favor Chad, right? I've talked to Nathan and he told me Chad has nothing to do with Maddie. That bit---witch is the one making move on him," she said. I am actually shocked that she tries to defend Chad.

"From how Nathan explained everything, I think he's telling the truth. He also said that Chad can't tell you what he's up to because it has sonething to do with you."

"Me?" I mushed my eyebrows. She just shrug her shoulders.

"I have no idea what he is up to but my guts are telling me it is for you," she said.

"So you really are siding him now, huh?" I teased her and smile.

She rolled her eyes. "I'm still gonna break his bones for making you cry!"

I laughed at her reaction. "Thanks, Katie. You're always there for me."

"All for you, Em. You know I'll always be here for you..."

After an agonizing one week staying at home, I finally got back to school. Yes there are a lot of paper works and lessons to catch up but what concerns me more is Chad. I never heard from him since the argument we had. I start to regret how I acted that day. I think I over think everything. But it still hurts me to think that he and Maddie were together and that he is hiding something from me.

"Hey, gorgeous." I lift my head up from staring at the book I'm reading here at the library to check who it was.

"Chris," I smile at him and he did the same. "What are you doing here?" I asked in a hushed tone.

"Well, I'm not an honor student but the last time I checked I'm still allowed to use the library," he grins and I quietly chuckle.

"Come join me," I offered and removed my bag from the table next to me. He sat down and glanced at the book I'm reading.

"I suppose that is for catching up with the lessons you've missed. Where's your friend by the way?" He asked.

"She never joins me here. She says it's boring."
