Throughout the ages there has existed gods and goddesses. They’ve kept a watchful eye on all of humanity, every so often visiting the Earth. There is Helias the God of destruction and war, he also has the ability to control the flame. He tends to not bother with anyone else because he doesn’t want to disturb his rest. Zane is the God of knowledge and he tends to use weapons more than his elemental powers, but he never wants to fight because he’s a frail reserved guy.Merida is the Goddess of health, beauty, and good fortune. She is amazingly attractive and everyone loves her. Like all great gods and goddesses they have a common maker, we know her as mother nature. After a few centuries of wars and famine the gods and goddesses aren’t frequently contacted. The year is now 2038 and modern issues are no more.  On Earth everything has changed, people have become more barbarous and pollution has ruined the atmosphere. The world has fallen into a great chaos and the land has become barren except for certain areas under government control. Down on Earth there has been an announcement that in order for your land to receive food, certain people would have to win a tournament. It would be a battle of champions and strength.

Without knowledge of this decree Helias, Zane and Merida sometimes visit societies that they find interesting. After a few days Merida notices a struggle among the humans,

”Helias, Zane our people are down their suffering!” Helias shrugs like it’s a common thing, making Merida upset.

She turns to Zane for advice,”They are just having a battle between their people over a famine, like we’ve noticed in the past,” Feeling like this will resolve itself she continues on her way. The following day Zane notices that things aren’t getting better and things have escalated. He gets a little worried but knows nothing bad would become of it. Down on Earth a few citizens start to notice a change, there is a mysterious green creature growing near their homes. They decide to go to the authorities with this information but are put into solitary confinement for six months. Merida hears about this and decides to visit them every so often on her visits to towns and she learns about this strange entity that has gotten them imprisoned. So  she decides to go to her maker Mother Nature. “Maker on Earth there is a strange green creature sprouting up, what is it?” Mother Nature laughingly replies,

“That is just grass, it used to be everywhere on Earth. That means plants are growing,” Mother Nature is the embodiment  of natural beauty, with hair  bright red like the shining sun, with light sea blue eyes traveling a vast ocean. Merida then goes to the prisoners to tell them of their discovery.

Helias goes and visits some of the fighting towns enjoying the sights before him.

“Never have i seen such strength in a human before,” he gazes at each country’s top warriors.  They are all hoping to be victorious and bring home honor and food. Zane and Merida neither enjoy nor despise what’s going on so they allow it to continue.  On Merida’s next trip to Earth she notices something strange that wasn’t there before. The countries are now allowing children to fight for the food! Now this is something that upsets her, she hurries back to tell her brothers.

“ Zane, Helias! Their allowing children to participate in that stupid battle.” She is overwhelmed with tears.“There’s gotta be something we can do to put an end to thi-” Helias angrily interrupts her,

”We’ve never interjected in these silly matters before,” Merida continues to cry, Zane goes to her side in a calming tone he says

”Everything will be alright, no one would ever want to hurt a child. Besides sooner or later this will come to pass.” She wipes away a tear,

”I just can’t stand to see when an innocent is hurt, but if you say this will end then I’ll do my best.”  Everything returns back to normal between the deities.

They’ve all decided to try and live in harmony amongst the humans so now they’re starting to find places to stay.  Helias being the way he is finds a nice quiet cabin away from everyone, that way he’ll have his peace and quiet. Zane on the other hand finds an apartment loft above a library to advance his knowledge. Merida however works at an orphanage helping the sick and helpless children.  Some time has passed and each year there’s been a new battle of strength, each time more lives are lost.

The following year Merida notices how some of her children have started vanishing from their rooms. She wanders around town searching for them, but to no avail the children are lost forever. She contacts her brothers with the mystery “ Guys, children in my area have started going missing in the recent days,” Zane shares her concern,

” They’ve been disappearing from my library as well.” Helias thinks to himself for a moment then suggests if they’ve been put in the upcoming battle. Merida covers her mouth in half horror and disbelief,

”What makes you think that?” she looks at him,

“In the past centuries people have used slaves to practice and experiment on, that’s probably why the children are disappearing without a trace,” Helias replies.

As time goes on Merida learns the whereabouts of her missing children, they’ve been kept in a secret government facility just outside of town. She decides to go and use her charm and wits to sneak into the base.  She decides to not tell Helias or Zane of her plans.

She finally makes it to the base and at the gates are two guards a male and a female. Merida decides to seduce them into loving each other by using her looks on the male guard while pretending to be the female guard. The two guards go off somewhere and do who-knows-what allowing Merida to sneak into the base.  Sneaking through the corridors she overhears a conversation between strangers,  a man in a gruff voice says, “Did you notice how that little boy attacked that girl?”

In a hushed tone another guy answers,” yes, it was so vicious. I’m glad those kids are locked away downstairs” Hearing this she heads downstairs. Meanwhile Zane and Helias start wondering where Merida went.

“Has she told you anything, Helias?”, Zane shakes his head.

“I haven’t spoken with her in days, she’s probably ok”, they shake it off.

Merida continues on her descent downstairs, avoiding the eyes of the watching guards. She hears a set of footsteps approaching, so she quickly darts into an open doorway. The footsteps pass her by but Merida starts to search the room she’s in. She continues looking around for a light switch, somewhere in the room there comes hushed whispers. She hears what sounds like a boy’s voice “ we’ve got to escape.”

“ but what about the guards?” another boy answers.

”We’ve already lost so many friends,” comes a little girl’s voice.

Merida thinks to herself,”What if these are the missing children?” she flips on a light and walks over to the cells, “Andy? Liz? Max?” The voices go quiet as they decide on their next words, in a raspy voice Merida hears ”Merida is that you?”

“We thought you’d never find us!” comes the little girl’s voice.
