Her name is Kara. Kara has always been bright, as if the sun had given her a special aura. Kara is often a teachers pet, seeing as she is in a classroom so often.
You might be thinking, why? Classrooms are boring.
Well, if Kara leaves the classroom then they'll hurt her. They, being the monsters. The monsters being the people. The people that think its ok to try and hurt an extremely underweight 16-year-old.
Kara has been haunted by these so called people for many months.
Kara's teacher, Miss Saffnat, lets her sit inside the classroom because Kara never wants to leave.
At home, life isnt much better. Kara has 8 siblings. Kara's mum nor stepdad works, meaning not much money. When they do get money, Kara's stepdad spends it all on drink at his club. When he gets home after drinking, he will beat Kara and her sisters as much as he feels like it. Once he knocked out little toddler Patience because she was trying to say proper words to her own father.
Kara will get beaten by her stepdad. Kara gets it the worst, meaning she has open cuts, bruises, scabs everywhere.
No one understands Kara. The way she thinks, talks, acts etc. But will she ever take off that mask of fake happiness is what she asks herself every night before she goes to sleep in her thin blanket on the floor at night.
But everytime she shakes her head, thinking she may be going insane.
Miss Saffnat agrees to let Kara sit in her classroom everyday because she knows Kara's life is not easy. Kara crys at everything anyone says to her, whether it be nice or mean!
These days Kara seems depressed, the mask of joy fading away, slowly.
But little does she know what will happen in the future.
