Chapter 1:

'Why did I have to leave College so late?!' Sophie thought uneasily as she sat on a bench in the Subway, waiting for her train to arrive.

Sophie was a talented and very intellectual student at Onigawa College, Japan.

The girl had moved to from England to Tokyo last year, and ever since her arrival, strange murders had been occuring around her area, making her all the more cautious.

The brown eyes pale girl clutched her bag tightly as the last train from the Station pulled up onto the platform.

Not one person was around, and the deserted platforms felt almost eerie around this time of night.

The stars shone brightly, but there was no moon to be found, somehow darkening the dark blue hazy sky.

Just before she entered the train carriage, Sophie checked her phone. 11:30pm, she had about half an hour to get home before she completely died of exhaustion.

As she sat down on the side seat of the train, she started to regret doing all that leftover coursework at College.

Her dark red hair that was cutely pinned up into two pigtails that draped over as she stared down at the floor tiredly.

'I hope I have enough milk for the morning...' She sighed in her thoughts. As the train signalled it's departure, Sophie dreamily stared out of the window. She couldn't wait to get home.

To pass the time, she put in her earphones and listened to the Gazette whilst she stared dreamily out of the window.

Chocolate brown eyes sparkled in the starlight and her dark red hair had been cut into a perfect full fringe. Her porcelain skin was to be envied by any girl, and her glasses made her look all the more cute.

Slowly going into a dreamland with one of her favourite songs from Gazette blasting through her ears, she wondered how her cat, Daisuke was doing back at home.

He was a wonderful thing, with pure white fur and emerald green eyes. Sophie had picked him up from the animal rescue unit a few months ago and loved him ever since, as she always had a soft spot for cats.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she heard and saw the train pull up onto the platfom.

Her apartment was quite a walk still from the station, and Sophie just couldn't wait to pass out onto her bed.

The steam from the train lines fogged up the windows where Sophie was staring out of, forcing the cute girl to blink before getting up and walking off the train.

A cold breeze was around, and clouds had partially covered the starry sky now. Sophie checked her phone. 11:40pm.

'I'd better get home fast.' She thought calmly as she walked along the paved concrete floors.

No cars were running, and the street looked dark and dead, but it didn't really worry the small girl.

She was used to being by herself, in fact, she loved being by herself, it meant that she'd have more time to think about everything. Maybe that was why she was so clever.

Her dark leather jacket flapped about ominously in the wind, and her black tank top stayed put.

The chain on her dark red shorts clinked against the metal button, and was the only sound on the street apart from Sophie's quiet footsteps.

She decided that she would take the short cut home tonight as it was almost midnight now, and she had to get home as soon as possible.

Sophie was a huge believer of luck, so she figured that if she walked down the long alleyway necessary to go through before getting to her apartment quick enough, then she would have no problem.

The red haired girl momentarily stopped and stared down the long straight alley, and her eyes squinted to see if she could make out any dark figures.

When she was satisfied that the alleyway was completely deserted, she took a deep breath before stepping foward.

As she gained speed in her walking, she felt a little relief wash over her to think that she may get out of this alive.

However, as she got to the middle of the alleyway, she began to feel uneasy. Her steps started to slow, and her thoughts began to race.

Sophie decided to count to three before she ran as fast as she could down the remainder of the alleyway.

1 'Maybe I shouldn't have gone down here...'

2 'Maybe I should turn back...!'

3 'Too late now!' She thought.

However, before she took a step forward to run, she was heavily pushed against the wall to her left.

The impact of the push made her lungs force the remainder of air in the them, and she groaned lowly before she even knew what was happening.

Sophie was stunned. Shocked. Terrified.

Whatever had just pushed her against a wall was now restraining her.

She could feel a hand over her mouth, and an arm pressed heavily over her throat.

Her dark brown eyes widened to stare into crimson ones, which were shrouded in shadow.

Those eyes...

Those eyes were something to be praised and feared at the same time.

Her eyes had adjusted to the darkness now, and Sophie could clearly make out a tall, skinny man with slightly unkempt, black shoulder length hair and very pale skin.

Sophie couldn't move, she couldn't scream, she couldn't do anything. The girl was frozen on the spot, no need for any restraints.

However, upon seeing the girl properly, the man looked almost as stunned as she was, and he seemed to open his mouth, but no sound came out.

'This guy... Is he... Going to kill me?!' Sophie's thoughts raced through her head, and she could hear her heart thumping louder than she's ever known it to.

There was silence before Sophie gasped, finally blinking any tears that had formed in her eyes.

She just wanted it over with quickly.

'Maybe this is the person who's been murdering all those people!' She gasped in her thoughts as her face turned even paler than usual.

The man was blinking, but he looked so confused, and slowly, very slowly, he dragged his hand away from her mouth to get a good look at the cute girl.
