(Briana's POV)

Forest Hills Drive blasted through the speakers as I drove down the highway to our new home. I zoned out to the music as J Cole's words drifted through my ears, I was in my own world. I was taken back into reality by the sound of my sister Jhene crying quietly beside me. I looked to my right to see tears streaming down her face and her eyes slightly red.

"What's the matter baby girl ?" I asked softly. Jhene hadn't cried in a long time. All the death she has witnessed and been apart of and not a single tear. It's weird seeing her cry after such a long time.
" I miss them." she whispered. A tear almost escaped my eye as I thought about my parents. Thinking of them gave me an aching pain in my chest when I think about that night and everything that happened. I swallowed the lump in my throat.

" I miss them too." I kept my eyes focused on the road trying as hard as I could not to cry. Since the death of my parents which was six years ago. She always sees the badass, protective side of me now, I don't want her to think I am any weaker than I need to be.

"Why do they want us dead so bad? Everyone I ever loved, everyone I called my friends are gone just because they want us to suffer. I don't want to run anymore. I know I can protect myself and I know you can protect me but I am tired of being afraid. I'm tired of moving. I just want all of this to stop". Jhene's sobs grew louder and it became harder to listen to the music. I turned off the music and pulled over.

"Listen, I know you're tired of running and to be honest I am too. Jhene I understand you're afraid but listen to me. I have been protecting you since Mom and Dad died. I've taught you everything you know about self defence, shooting a gun, a bow, throwing knives, hell you even know the quickest way to kill somebody! You are the strongest and bravest sixteen year old I have ever met and I'm so proud of you. I promise you as long as I am alive on this Earth nobody will hurt you."

I hugged her tightly until she eventually stopped crying. She wiped her eyes one last time before checking her phone and plugging in her earphones. I looked down at my jacket and frowned. " You got my leather jacket wet asshole". I chuckled lightly and she giggled. I turned back up the music and tapped my fingers to the beat on the wheel. We soon approached a sign that read 'Welcome To Beacon Hills'.
