Small hands- Keaton Henson
•Macy POV•
Pain.
I made a run for it after Josh and I spoke, well he spoke and I got angry. No, not angry, sad, envious, confused. A cocktail of bad emotions.
My father. Our father.
The one that he got his whole life with and I hadn't met once. The one that knew of me and even told his son about but couldn't reach out to me.
I think the worse part was that I was the only one who didn't know, even Tobi knew for fuck sake. Josh knew all along, when he found out my real name, he knew. He played with me at the park for that exact reason, he knew that I was his little sister. Yet I still ended up in care. I still ended up getting hurt by my own blood. I still ended up here.
The dark thoughts slipped into my brain as I focused of the calming music flowing into my ears. I fought off the tears as a song that was played at my mother's funeral played, making me miss the past and fear the future.
Although it wasn't new to me, those fears. The fear of not getting a job or not getting an education. The fear of death. The feeling of everyone against you. It wasn't new, I think that's what made it worse.
I missed the comfort of my mother, I always did when I was younger. I wasn't ready to lose her, I don't think any child is ready to lose the person who raised them and made them who they are.
I didn't know where exactly I was, in a random twenty four hour chip shop, slowly eating a cheesey chip that I paid for with stolen money, via the only person trying to help me at this point in time, Tobi.
I silently watched the drunken groups of young, irresponsible adults go in and out of the chippy as the night outs started coming to an end.
Yes I was eating, I don't know how, or when it started but one day Tobi offered my a crisp sandwich and ever since then I was eating at least once a day. I didn't know how to feel about it, but I liked tasting things I hadn't in a very long time.
"What's a pretty girl like you eating alone at this time?" I heard a tipsy man slur.
"Eating" I mumbled, not looking up, playing with the plastic grease covered fork. I heard the screeching of the cheep metal chairs on the black and white tile floor and watching out of my peripheral vision as the man sat down. It didn't alarm me that much, I just shifted uncomfortably until I felt the man's hard cold hand against my thigh.
"Where's your manners?" The man asked in quite and eerie voice, his hand gradually tightening on my leg until it hurt.
My head snapped up in fear, looking into the cold eyes of the hooded man.
"I-I-" I chocked vigorously on my words before giving up.
"That's what I thought" He chuckled darkly, in a low tone. My eyes helplessly darted around the small crowded shop, searching for help.
His grip got tighter and the grip got almost unbearable as tears that I was incapable of holding ran down my face.
"There you are! Come on we'll be late!" A girl with long black curly hair tugged on my elbow. I looked to her, confused at to what she was doing until her she glance at the man and back at me before smiling.
"Come on" She pulled my arm, making the man release as I followed the girl out of the chippy.
