SEXUAL ASSAULT TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️

Lydia walked hesitantly out of the library office.

She was never a fan of people being in her business, however she could never avoid it so she just embraced it at a young age.

The thought of someone knowing about this, almost brought her to her knees. She needed to fix it right now.

Cora tried to catch up with her as she was walking down the hallway.

"Lydia wait!" Cora called

The words blurred in Lydias mind.

Coras hand gently brought her back into reality.

"Lydia, what's wrong? What's on that paper?" Cora asked concerned.

"I don't want to talk about it. Just trust me, we need to get it back." Lydia stated and Cora nodded.

Jake entered the hallways and both girls went silent.

Was he trustworthy after all?

-----------
When they got back to the house the girls had a serious talk in Lydias room.

"Who would want that exam?" Cora asked
"Without knowing what's on it I don't know why someone would want it."

"It would ruin my reputation." Lydia responded looking down. "I've pissed a lot of people off in my time."

"How will it hurt your reputation?" Cora asked

"You know how-" lydia began before pausing "I was raped."

"Yeah." Cora responded heavily digging into Lydia's eyes for the answer

"I got pregnant." Lydia stated tearing up

"How did I not know?" Cora asked touching her hand soothingly. "What happened?"

"I lost it a week in from stress they said. I never hurt that baby and I would've kept it. Mom and Dad thought it'd be best not to tell anyone." Lydia stated then began sobbing like she never had before

Lydia didn't cry often.

Cora sat there and hugged her for an hour saying it was ok.

"Lydia none of this is your fault. You didn't choose this some messed up guy did. We are gonna put him in Jail, and we are gonna get that paper back." Cora stated

But now she understood how important it would be to get those papers. Lydia was already upset and she didn't need to relive it because of Everyone at school.

---------

Tyler walked into the coffee shop before school that morning. He went straight the the cash register to order.

He ordered his coffee and tried to be fast because he was in a hurry. He was texting his mom and hadn't looked up at the barista once during his order.

He finally looked up to hand her the money and his heart stopped. She stared at him confused. She giggled once she noticed.

He couldn't even give his signature grin back. He stared into her eyes getting lost. How could one woman be so beautiful?

She coughed a little and he woke up handing her the 20 dollar bill. She handed him his coffee because it was now ready. She began to give him change and he threw on his signature grin before saying "keep the change."

They both smiled as he left.

He drove half way to school before realizing he never got her name.
