*Mark's POV*
Me: Jack?
Jack: Yes darling?
Me: Are you there yet?
Jack: Lol you sound like a child
Me: Well, are you? I'm worried..
Jack: No need to be
I put my phone down. Something wasn't right; I could sense it. I decided to go to Jack's house to have a look around, just as a precaution to check for any signs of forced entry or kidnapping.

After arriving at Jack's place, my attention was immediately grabbed by the fact that his door was unlocked. Closed tight, but unlocked.
I ventured inside, scanning the area for any obvious negative signs. When I found none, I searched deeper. When I still wound up with no evidence or cause for despair, I started on my way out. However, once I'd opened the door, I was partially blinded by something out of my peripheral vision.
I took a step back, letting my eyes adjust back to normal lighting. Upon regaining my vision, I turned to the suspected object. I couldn't identify it from my location, so I advanced towards it. I picked it up, realizing it was Jack's bracelet. The bracelet he always wore and, from what I'd seen, had never taken off. It struck me as more than a little peculiar that, not only had Jack left it behind, but also that it was on the floor, almost underneath the couch like he'd been trying to hide it. It wasn't something that would've happened if it fell from his wrist, and even if it had, I was sure he would've noticed.
Me: Hey Jack?
There was a five minute silence before a response was made.
Jack: Yes, love? You know, it's very difficult, dangerous, and illegal to text while driving
Yet another clue; Jack wasn't driving at all.
Me: Haha I know, I know.. Are you ok?
Jack: Fit as a fiddle
Liar. Not Jack, but whatever behemoth had current possession of his phone.
Me: That's comforting to hear. Er, read.. Call me when you get there
Jack: Will do
...I had to talk to Lord. He's the best hacker in the business, doubling as my best friend since grade school.
I put my phone away. I had a long drive ahead of me.
