I awoke to the sound of cheeful laughter. I'm already awake so I should just get up now. Lillyfeather stepped out of the warriors den,flicking my ear to get the moss off. I walk to the center if the camp and laid down on the sunny spot of grass peeping out from the shadows of heating rocks. I close my eyes,letting my fur soak up all the sun. I was so into my basking that I didn't hear Hawkflight come up behind me. "Hey," although his voice was gentle, I still jumped."sorry I didn't mean to scare you." I sit up and look at him. "What do you need Hawkflight?" I ask stifling my yawn. "So, since we didn't get to go hunting yesterday,I was wondering if you would like to go now?" His voice was calm but his eyes hid nothing. "Of course I will hunt with you." I turned with a flick of my tail.Hawkflight hurried up to my side. Our pelts were brushing but I didn't care. We walk on in silence until he stopped in front of me."Lillyfeather I asked you to go hunting for a reason and not just to hunt." I stared at him as he stared at me. "And that reason is what?" I asked. "I've always like you Lillyfeather, I have like you since we awere apprentices. I want to know more about you and if we can get to know each other a little more, then I think and hope we could make each other happy." I could see where this was going and I was scared," Lillyfeather,will you be my mate?" I didn't know how to answer. Should I say yes or should I say no? "Hawkflight, yes. Yes I will be you mate." he lunged foreward covering my face with licks and purs."Ok,ok,ok,!" I exclaimed as I shove him off."lets head back to camp. The apprentice ceremony is going to start soon and I don't want to miss it."I said. We ran back to camp as fast as we could. I felt like a kit again. Playing with Moonkit and Stonekit. We reached the camp just in time for the ceremony. "All cats old enough to climb the oak tree gather here for a clan meeting."Yowled Reedstar from the lowest hanging branch." Minnowkit,Silverkit, and Dustykit have reached their sixth moon and it is rime for them to become apprentices. Silverkit, from this moment forward,until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Silverpaw. You mentor will be Cloudsky. Cloudsky I trust that you will pass on your knowlegde on to this apprentice." the apprentice bounded foreward and touched noses with Cloudsky."Dustykit,you will now be known as Dustypaw. You mentor will be Rosefire." Dustypaw slowly walked foreward and touched her nose to Rosefire's. " Rosefire I know that you will pass on your inteligence and speed to this apprenctice." "Minnowkit until you have earned your warrior name you will now be known as Minnowpaw. Your mentor will be Mintpelt. Mintpelt pass on your patience and courage to this apprentice. " the apprentice dashed forward and touched noses with her new mentor."starclan I ask that you guide these apprentices to their right paths and let them learn the ways of your noble code.Silverpaw!Dustypaw!Minnowpaw!" the clan cried out. We ate and laughed and shared memories for the rest of the time until it was time for the apprentices to explore the territory. Hawkflight pads up to me, a wren in his jaws, and drops it at my paws. "lets share this." we ate the wren then sat in the sun, sharing tongues. How could my life get any better?
