It was a warm afternoon, with the sun shining down on Liam's face as he lay on the grass with a book in his hand. It was nice to lie there, forgetting all his worries, reading- it was like an escape from reality, he could enter another world, someone else's world. It was like living another life.
His mother seeing him cocooned in his bed, had asked him to spend his day outside. What she meant was for him to leave his books and go out and get some fresh air. But what Liam did was the total opposite. Or partly opposite. He took his book and a blanket, spread it on the grass and lied down to enjoy his book. Atleast he was getting th e fresh air.
He usually goes for a jog in the morning before everybody wakes up, just around the manor- it wasn't safe outside. But today he just slept in for the majority of the morning and had grabbed a book and a cup of cofee and relaxed in bed. Though he felt bad for skipping his morning jog, he promised himself that he would make it up by doubling his rounds around the manor the next day.
As he was fretting about his workout habits, his little sister, Aria, came running towards him, her blonde hair bouncing as she ran as fast as her little feet would carry her to her brother. He was her favourite out of all her siblings. He was so kind and caring and he always protected her.
For Liam, she was his little ball of sunshine. Though he loved all his siblings, Aria had a special place in his heart. The age difference made him almost like a parent to her. He kept the book down as his sister climbed on his lap and planted a sloppy kiss on kiss cheek.
He chuckled and started tickling her, the squealing and laughing in delight. Her brother joined he and started placing kisses all over her face. Aria was content sitting on her brother's lap and playing with him. But then she had something to tell him. "Liam?" she asked.
"What is it, sunshine? Do you wanna tell me something?"
Aria nodded her head, making her curls bounce. Liam sat there admiring his sister's cuteness while she asked with a serious face, "Who is you favourite person in our family?"
"Of course it's you, honey. You know that, don't you?", he pouted his lips, bringing her head close to his with his hand. She was so small, he always felt the urge to protect her.
"I know. But you spend most of your time time wid Shazz ans Persie. You hardly spend any time with meeeee!", she dragged the 'e' in the 'me'.
"Oh, honey! i love you, alright? You're my favorite sibling. yeah? And I'm gonna spend a whole day with you. Tomorrow, alright?"
Aria's face lit up at Liam's words and she went "Yay!", literally jumping on Liam's lap. She hugged him- holding on to his T- shirt like her life depended on it. And liam hugged her back, smiling.
And the he lied down on his back with Aria clinging to him. She sat on his stomach and played with the material of his T- shirt as he went back to reading the book. Just then Audrey came to the place where Liam was lying under the tree.
"Hey there, Li!", she exclaimed.
"Well, hello there! Look who joined us!". That was when Aria snapped up to give her sister a toothy smile. Audrey smiled back and sat beside Liam on the blanket.
"Hey, can I lie here beside you?", Audrey asked.
"Sure, Audi."
She made herself comfortable on the blanket and cuddled up to Liam. He was surprised at first but then he let her cuddle up and pulled her head on his chest. Aria, who was playing with Liam's T- shirt moved her hand to Audrey's hair. She always liked Audrey. Though she was reserved at times, she was kind. And the three siblings spent their afternoon together, thoroughly enjoying each other's company, but not saying it out loud.
At dinner, the whole family sat together. It has been a long time since usually someone would be busy with something. But today, everybody sat to enjoy the meal.
Jonathan, Liam's father sat at the head of the table, with blonde hair and blue eyes, while Astoria, his wife, sat at the other end with brown hair and nut brown eyes. To Jonathan's right sat Narcissa, his eldest daughter,with blonde hair like her father and brown eyes like her mother, who was 20. So she kinda stayed detached from the stuff happening with her little siblings. Nonetheless, everybody loved her. Though she can be tough at times she was a sweetheart at the core.
Next to her sat Liam, 16 years old, happy that everyone was there, with brown hair and chocolate- brown eyes. Next to him was Aubrey, 14, quiet and shy, with brown hair and blue- green eyes. Next to her was Persephone , 10 years old, with brown hair and blue eyes with flecks of gold in them, waiting for the food to be served. Next to her was Aria, 3 years old, with curly blonde hair and big googly blue eyes, twiddling with her spoon.
To Jonathan's left was Rebecca, his second daughter, who is 18, with her dirty blonde hair and brown eyes, observing her nails. She was self- obsessed sometimes but was always there when one of her siblings needed her. Next to her sat Audrey, Aubrey's twin brother. He was the male version of Aubrey, with the same blue- green eyes and brown hair, only a tad bit curly. Next to him sat Sharon, 12 years old, with her dirty blonde hair and blue eyes that had golden flecks in them. Next to her sat Edward, 8 years old, with brownish bronze hair and light brown eyes.
When the food was served, the family said their prayers and started eating. The table was filled with cheerful laughter and banter.
None of the family members were aware of the fate that would befell them soon.

There it is, the first chapter. I know it sucks but I just wanted to let you guys get to know Liam's family background. As for the seating arrangement, it's like this:

And yeah, Liam has a lot of siblings. He's got quite a big family. You'll come to know the reason. *spoilers* And how do you think Zayn will enter Liam's life? I wanna know what you guys think! And I promise the book will get interesting (hopefully!).
