Bring! Bring! Bring! The shrill ring of the last period bell rang at North Coast High's Algebra class. Becca and Camilla tried to hurriedly write down their assignments, but got distracted by the teacher's nasally voice that just drones on about nothing.

"Alright students now we are going to do pages 156,157, and problem 2 of 158 for homework," the teacher said in her usual nasal tone.

"Okay, okay I get the point of the assignment just let us go already," Becca thought to herself. She glanced at the clock and realized it had already been two minutes after the bell.

As Becca and Camilla left they tried to dodge the stampede of impatient middle schoolers. Some kids would be sprinting through the halls while some would be blaring rap music from their IPhones.

"Can we please leave now! It's already drizzling outside and I cannot get wet," Camilla said impatiently at Becca's locker. Becca slammed her locker shut and rolled her eyes. Even though they are polar opposites, they are cousins and best friends.

As the two girls walked out of the front door of the school it had began to drizzle. Camilla put on her pink polkadot-ed rain jacket and was clearly annoyed by Becca at the moment.

"Becca, it's drizzling right now. Can't you put on your light, hooded jacket?" Clarissa pulled her hair back behind her weighty dark purple backpack

"Camilla, I am fine. All that just concerns me at the moment is the wind blowing strands of hair in my face." As Becca said this she tied her hair back into a loose ponytail.

Everyday after school both Becca and Camilla walk over to Camilla's house. Each day they are welcomed by Camilla's mother, along with her famous lemon tea and whole wheat turkey sandwiches. They could just taste them in their mouths right now.

When the girls walked along the cul-de-sac they knew something felt wrong. They looked at each other confused, yet worried. "Had I forgotten my homework?" Camilla thought to herself. Did I forget to take the trash out this morning?" Becca had too thought.

Both girls sprinted to the wooden front door of Camilla's house. Becca slowly turned the brass doorknob only to see a shocking unpleasant surprise.
