"without the sun, there would be no light. without the light, there would be nothing but the darkness"
All around me is nothing but the darkness. No light surrounding us, only the cold and black dark night skies. It meant I wound up losing everyone. Everyone is dying. They can't be saved, nor will I. If you count 5 bricks, 2 molotovs, 3 bottles of whiskey, and 10 knives as "survival" than I'm doing a pretty damn good job.
I was only an 18 year old in survival mode with no family left. They all died in a fire. Not in a house fire, someone set a fire in the woods and a tree fell on top of them. It crushed their bones and set their flesh on fire.
I walked into my room, my lantern in my hand and a knife in the other. I put the lantern down on the dresser and started digging through my dressers. I pulled out my black leggings, navy shirt, and I grabbed my black vans and put them on. I grabbed a maroon hoodie and put it on. I decided I would put my hair up in a bun. Once I finished changing, I grabbed my backpack full of my supplies I needed.
I grabbed the whiskey bottle and went down the steps, taking sips from the bottle. I made it to the front door and I grabbed my flashlight, then made sure I had everything just incase someone came to my home and took something.
I walked down the front porch and into the woods. The house was in the middle of nowhere, in the darkness. It was the dark age which meant we had 1 whole year of darkness.
It's so dark and foul.
A growl irrupted in the distance and I quickly went behind a bush, holding my gun to my side, cocking it back and slowly turning my head to see where it had gone. Next thing I knew, the wolf change back into a human. A human boy.
I gasped silently and he quickly changed into his clothes. Once he left, I scrambled out from behind the bush and started running into the distance. Then I felt a loud crash into my side. I opened my eyes and found the boy was for sure on top of me.
"Who are you? What are you doing out here alone?" he questioned.
"Why are you freaking out?" I asked him. "I'm no one, it doesn't matter to you. And plus I decided to loot before anyone else came out here. Plus, before the moon came out, but I see that it already has." I said looking up at the moon-lit sky.
"You're Danielle and Robert's girl aren't you? Aimee," he smirked.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him off of me. I got up and dusted the leaves off of me.
"You are," he said.
"Why did you tackle me?" I asked.
"Why do you care?" he grinned, silently clicking his tongue.
"Touché," I glared.
"Stiles is after you. You need a better home that is more secure," he said, grabbing my wrist and pulling me along with him.
"You're one of them aren't you?" I asked. "You're a werewolf."
"Honey, I'm not the only one."
"What's your name?" I asked, yanking back my arm from his grasp.
"Derek. Now if you don't mind could we get the hell out of here?" He groaned.
I just laughed and walked ahead of him.
"You don't know which way I live."
"I don't need to. I already know who you are. You're friends with the guy who killed my parents. My family. My own fucking family. You're a sick bastard, both of you." I spat at him.
"Aimee, calm down. You don't know what you're dealing with," Derek said.
My eyes rolled.
"Whatever. Lead the way."
--
The largest mansion I ever seen came into sight as I peered against a tree. Scratch that, it's a freaking castle. I gaped at the sight of Derek just walking into the front door as it was just a natural thing.
"Aren't you coming?" He asked.
"Uh.. Yea." I said. Even though it was dark, they had electricity, so I could see the outlining of it by the street poles and lanterns hung all about.
I passed two large pools, a large garden, and up to the massive front porch where Derek was waiting.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"Eighteen. You?"
"Twenty-four."
I shivered and he must've seen because he just laughed.
"Scott will show you you're room and the closet is full of clothes and you have a bed. A nice one. Was my old one, but you don't care. Go upstairs, take a shower, get dressed, and come back downstairs." He commanded.
A boy about my age looked at him and smiled. I smiled back and he took my upstairs.
"Here's your room," Scott said.
"Thanks." I replied and stepped in. He closed the door behind him and I started walking towards the bathroom.
I turned the water on and started undressing. Finally, I stepped into the hot shower and then rinsed out my hair with shampoo and conditioner.
Then I shaved my legs and turned the water off. I pulled the shower curtain back and found a towel from the cabinet. I wrapped it around my body and opened the door to the bathroom open, now walking in the bedroom.
I walked over to the closet and searched for something to wear. I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, a black t-shirt with the nirvana smiley face in yellow, and I bent down and grabbed my black vans.
I quickly changed and then walked into the bathroom. I looked for the blow dryer and soon found it in the cabinet below the sink. I blow dried my hair which took 15 minutes, then I curled it because I wanted to. I walked over to the bed and slipped my socks on, then my vans. As I finished putting my shoes on, the door opened.
Standing there in the doorway was a very stressed looking Derek.
"Are you ready?" He asked, grabbing my backpack and my crossbow.
"Uh.. yea. Where we going?" I asked. He grabbed a leather jacket from the closet and handed it to me. I hesitated before putting it on.
"Ok, fine. We're going out. We've got to find Stiles." Derek said.
As we both turned around, now looking at us in the doorway, a strange boy with brown/black messy hair and dark eyes stared at Derek, then at me.
"Well hello Derek. I see you've gotten her for me. That's very nice, but you see, when Stiles' wakes up he's going to wonder why there is a strange girl in his house," Stiles said. Stiles knocked Derek across the head with a bat and Derek stayed down. Stiles turned to me and smirked.
"C'mon cupcake, put the crossbow down." He cooed. I growled, not human-like, but animalistic.
He grinned evilly and pinned me against the wall, pushing the end of the arrow in my stomach.
"I don't want to hurt you Aimee. Don't make me." He whispered in my ear.
I shoved him away and looked at my stomach. The arrow was stuck in my stomach. I winced in pain and looked up at Stiles who was staring at me.
I fell to the ground and wrapped my hands around it. I breathed in and out, then yanked it out. I started choking on air and Stiles threw me an inhaler.
I breathed in the oxygen and stood up, scrambling towards my backpack. I opened it with shaky hands and pulled out the first aid kit. As I pulled my shirt up, I examined the wound. I grabbed the thread and needle, quickly sewed up and put a bandage on it.
"Were leaving now," Stiles said, yanking me up and I pulled my backpack with me.
