Summer is my favorite season. Don't you just love the sweet smell of roses and fresh rain? Don't you just love the way the sun shines, day and night, and how every one smiles and how they laugh and eat their ice cream? Isn't it awesome how much some animals love the summertime? Isn't it awesome how sunny skies make people so much more happier?? Isn't summer just--
"AVA!!" the teacher shouts. I sigh as the teacher looks down at me with annoyance and a disapproving look.. again.
"Ava, why can't you be more like your sister?" there's that phrase, once again. Mia, my sister, turns and looks at me. She grins in her I'm-two-months-older-than-you way. I can't be mad at her though, not when she is able to be such a nice and talented person at the same time. She can draw, she can cook, she can dance, and oh can she sing! Like not even kidding over here, but whenever we are outside in the backyard and she sings a song from the musical Annie, the squirrels will just stop and stare at her. I am 40% positive that they smile, too. Just kidding, but you get the point right?
"So, Ava, since you are so busy daydreaming, you obviously know our topic quite well, correct?" she asks but quickly continues without giving me time to back myself out of this situation.
"So, Ava," she continues," please tell.. how does the exposure of a picture affect how the picture will expose?"
"Huh?" I ask, so confused. The class laughs.
"How does the exposure change the quality of a picture?"
"Oh.. um." I feel my cheeks turn hot pink.. "Well, it can be bright, I mean light.. or dark.. I mean, dim, the, uh, what's it called. I mean, the..
She raises her eyebrows. People are already laughing so hard.
"The exposure.." I say.
"Good work. Now actually pay attention will you?" she says. I nod quickly, not wanting to get caught in another situation like this again!
"Alright, class, I am super excited to inform you that we will be going on a class field trip for our photography class."
"Oooooh!" Amber calls out.
"Where are we going to?" Tomas (with an accent over the o) says.
"Spain!" my teachers announces excitedly.
No way!" we all smile. Since we already are in Europe, Spain is not to far away. This was going to be so epic. As I felt the old air conditioner blow against my hair, I had to focus.. this was exciting, and no air conditioner blowing nearby or awesome daydreams could stop me now! Because we were going to Spain. My daydreams, turned into a real dream come true.
"Okay class.. are you ready for this trip?"
Everyone smiled.
Check back for part 2 tomorrow!!
