~Darkiplier x Reader~

((747 words. Sorry it's so short.))

F/n sat alone in their apartment for sometime. She lived alone after all, what did you expect from a 23 year old who just got out of college? She lied on her back, staring up at the ceiling boredly. What should I do..? She thought sleepily to herself. "I guess I'll just watch Mark until I fall asleep..." Her soft murmur came from her lips with a sigh as she stood up.

Quietly, she meander over to the other side of the room, the soft skin at the bottom of her feet tingling at the plush, dark carpet. She leaned down at the hip, taking her laptop off of its charger. She was extremely flexible, and it just became a habit for her to not bend at the knee. She was alone, so she didn't really care anyway.

She glanced around at the framed pictures along the light blue walls of her living room, sighing as she went to plop down into her tan couch. She leaned back so she slouched with her back against the arm rest, quickly turning on the laptop and logging into her YouTube account. She sighed, scrolling through the subscription list until she clicked on the familiar Markiplier channel. She noticed a new video, but only one. Usually, there would have been two by now. Strange... She thought curiously, tilting her head as she examined it on the screen. The thumbnail was purely black, and the video length said it was only 1:36. It was odd for such a thing, but she shrugged, thinking it was just some silly prank like he usually did.

Boredly, she sighed and clicked on the video. The screen came up blank. There were no recommended videos beside the one she had clicked, nor was there a description, subscribe button, like or dislikes; nothing. Nada. Blank. Just that video. She groaned, thinking her computer was clutching out like it often did, just not like this. "Damnit..."she murmured.

She jumped as a deep, odd voice echoed around her from the speakers of her laptop. "Hello~," the voice chuckled. "Mark's been off his meds for a while, so why don't we play a game, Y/N~?" The voice inquired out roughly. She froze. Her name. Why did Mar- it say her name? No, that couldn't be, could it? Her screen went black as her heart pounded with the sinister chuckle of the voice.

"M-Mark..?" She whimpered out helplessly.

"Oh, that's close, my dear, but not quite~," the voice teased. No she thought this can't be right...

"You-You're fictional...the fans made you up..."

"Did they, darling~?" He chuckled.

"D-Dark...? Wh-Why is...Why a-are you...?" She stammered weakly. Then, her computer completely clutched and powered off. She simply stared, bewildered by the sudden happenings. Then, everything went dark. Even out her window, she could see the majority of her city was now dark and black.

The room felt cold, nipping at the back of her neck as she shivered. Pushing the laptop aside, she curled up in the darkness, too afraid to move. She heard the floor around her creek at the sound of steps, weight shifting around and seemingly closer.

A cold hand grazed the back of her neck, making her tremble in fear and the chill spread though her bones. She went numb as her head was tilted back by a tug at her hair, forced to look up at the outline of the figure looking down at her.

"Well, well, aren't you just a beauty~..." The deep, rich voice whispered in her ear. She shivered, tears threatening to spill from her eyes as she felt the cold hand wrap around her neck. The voice once more whispered, "I won't kill you, but you will definitely be seeing me again...~" Dark chuckled before releasing her, fading into the darkness as the lights flickered back on.

She let out the breath she had been holding, trembling with a fast heart rate. But that low, deep chuckle continued to echo in her ears. That same laugh would forever haunt her memory.
