Chapter 1-
"Sometimes you just need to
find a safe place to fall, and
then let go.- Linda Poindexter
Arabella's POV-
"Arabella!"
..what?
"Your running late! Wake up!"
Shit.
My eyes shot open and I felt dazed.
I had just been in the place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming. My safe place. From the corner of my eye, I can see my blonde (almost white) curly hair lying on the bed.I was pulled out of my thoughts when a hard shove pushed me off my bed.
"What the... shit." I muttered as my head began to spin.
"Language young lady." Camilla tells me in a warning tone.
My scowl instantly became a smirk,
I love pestering her. It's my hobby."Your not my mom. Your still the silly nanny my parents hired four years ago. I'm not five years old Camilla-"
"It is Ms. Evangeline to you!" She yelled.
I swear she has the shortest temper ever.Camilla is my nanny, well.. not entirely.
When my parents aren't home she cares for me, since they don't trust me being alone.I'm always wandering around, and my curiosity gets the best of me. But Camilla is also kind of like an 'at home' teacher. Not for normal subjects or anything like that though, she likes to lecture me about being ladylike.
My parents aren't around very often, but when they are, they make sure to leave a negative imprint in my heart.
Last time I saw my parents was about two months ago. They own a big company so they travel a lot. They don't like to bring me though, according to them, I'm "annoying" when I travel. They say I give them headaches when I begin to ramble on about a historical artifact I may have stumbled upon on the trip, or the way I want to learn about the culture.
We've never really had a strong relationship.
It's always been Camilla and I.
"Arabella? Are you listening to anything I'm saying?!" I hear Camilla cry out loud.
She was talking?
"What?" I asked confused.
"Your parents arrived back from Jamaica this morning so your mom is going to come pick you up and drop you off at school so you can have a little bonding time." She said overly excitedly.
Yay... note the sarcasm.
"Okay, I'm gonna go get ready." I muttered, lazily standing up and walking to my bathroom.
I look into the mirror and my hair is perfectly imperfect with strands of baby hairs sticking out in different directions. A short gust of wind came in though my window making me feel the breezy season of spring and March.
Time to get ready for school...---
