"Wha-?" Talon awoke to a mess of dizziness and confusion. He was in an unfamiliar room with oatmeal wallpaper and floral curtains. Leaping to his feet, he tried to stay alert but his sore head kept him half-asleep. He tried to recall how he got here and where exactly he was. Suddenly, it all hit him. The motorbike accident. Penny's house. HQ arrest. Boring hair gel-less days. HQ break out. Hit on the head. He started recalling the past few days of how he had lived at Penny's house believing he was an average good guy instead of the super cool and cunning villain he was. Penny's laugh. Penny's smile. Penny's kindness....Snap out of it Talon, she's supposed to be your nemesis. Talon sighed and debated whether to lay back down or investigate. He chose the latter. His rocket boots lay by the door. He could easily just slot them on and make a hasty escape through the window...leaving Penny. Talon sighed and went downstairs.

"Talon?" Penny's voice rang out from the kitchen. A delectable scent of bacon and eggs hung in the air, and Talon couldn't help but feel hungry. Maybe I'll hang around just for breakfast. He walked into the kitchen, where Brain was donning an apron and flipping pancakes. Penny spooned breakfast onto plates. Man, this household was more normal than I thought, Talon mused. He hadn't really paid much attention to the household routines when he first came to Penny's house. He had assumed that Penny's house was full of spy stuff and shady high-tech secret passages. He said nothing to Brain and sat down at the table. Penny asked, "Feeling better today?"

"Um...yeah!" Talon answered. Should I break the news to her that I'm back to being my evil self? Talon had a dilemma on his hands. Either he told Penny he regained his memory and beat a hasty retreat back to Uncle Claw, where he would be a villainous henchman who was looked down upon by his uncle once again, or he pretends to play along and live longer at Penny's house. Penny was a sweet girl, who also happened to be his crush, he didn't want to disappoint her.

"Hey, I was thinking, can we talk?" Talon asked.

"Talk?" Penny disguised her surprise well. Has he regained his memory?  If so, why is he being nice? Penny inhaled deeply and nodded. "Ask me anything."

"Do I have any relatives?" Talon ventured cautiously. Penny sighed a little out of relief.

"You have an uncle who lives on the other side of town," she replied.

Well, at least she's not lying, Talon thought. He decided to push his luck a little further. "Can I call this uncle of mine?"

All the colour drained from Penny's face. She caught her fork before it hit the table with a metallic clang. "Um, I don't have his number," she muttered.

"Do I have a phone, or any personal belongings besides my purple boots?" Talon felt bad for pretending, but he had to do this.

"Yeah, you have a bracer," Penny says softly. "Your choice of accessory is intriguing."

Talon saw her sunken face and decided not to pursue any further. Uncle Claw was sure to turn him into shark food, but he'll just invent a masterful excuse. Talon smiled a little. "Why so down, Pretty Penny?" he put on his best cheerful voice. Pretty Penny? Penny blushed a little. She still couldn't get over Talon's little nickname for her. She knew he had no earthly way of knowing that she had a crush on him, but that didn't stop her from blushing anyway. She returned his smile.

Sigh, if only he could stay this nice forever, Penny thought weakly.

Sigh, if only I didn't have to reveal my memory regain sooner or later, Talon died a little inside.
