It Started With a Donut

Prologue

I was holding out my small hand while smiling encouragingly. He reached out, just to be pushed back again. I was about to shout back when his small and fragile hand holds mine back then said," Thanks, but you should step back now. It's my turn to bite back".

" Why would you choose glazed donut out of all things? it's so, boring" I said with a pinch of annoyance in my tone. He chuckled and said," You'll see " with a warm smile.

I dropped my glazed donut, my heart beats faster, my hands trembled in shock.
" What do you mean we should s-stop?". " Suji-ya, it's for the best," he said while forcing a smile. " No, no, you must be doing this for my sake, you should put yourself fir-no this can't be true there's no wa-". " Halla, I'm serious. I just don't think there's anything special between us anymore, I'm sorry". Tears started to stream down my cheeks when he walked away. I reached out my hand and screamed," WAIT-

RING, RING, RING

"Ugh, my head," I said as I rubbed it and tried to push my body out of my bed. " Why did I remember that the day I have to come back". I mumbled to myself as I got up and opened the curtain. The sun kissed my face as the morning breeze starts to make its way in. I looked at the time and date on my phone and groaned. All of those bittersweet memories passed through my mind. All of those hateful comments, all of those-

DING

" Suji-ya, have a safe flight okay?"
" Tell us when you arrived. We'll be waiting"
" You better keep us updated girl;)"
" Unnie, stay safe okay? Oh- and I'm still waiting for my chocolate "

I giggled to myself as I read the last one. Isn't it midnight there? They truly are my comfort crowd. I sighed and mumbled to myself," That's right I  got my girls behind me. And everything's different now. The past is the past, you don't have to worry much about it. You got this Lee Suji!"

-in the airport-

"Yeah right, the past is past my foot," I said as I munched down my glazed donut. That nightmare earlier must've taken a toll on me. No, if there's anyone to blame it's him. This precious little donut got nothing to do with it. Food is never wrong, mark that in your head young lady.

Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 89B to South Korea. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes. Thank you.

"Guess this is it, huh?" I sighed and took all my hand-carried belongings and proceeds to walk towards my gate. I'm probably going to went through a lot, but I'm not going to back down this time. It's my turn to bite back.

So, what do you think about the new prologue?
I thought of the plot and how I wanted it to be beforehand so I'm very excited to continue this book. Oh and authors note, this chapter begins with Halla's or Suji's (Halla's real name) dream. Since it was a dream the timeline of it is quite random. There's some time skip in between.
