A/N: I do not own any of the Characters you may recognize from the Harry Potter Books or Movies. JK Rowling owns them. I only own my character, Florence Holmes.
P.S: Florence Holmes is on the side ;p
Anyways, Enjoy :)

James was sitting in the Common Room alone – a rare sight, for he was usually with either Sirius or Remus. He hadn’t moved an inch, his eyes trained on a piece of parchment laying near the girls dormitory stairs. It had slipped out of someone’s bag.
He continued to stare at the sheet of neatly folded parchment, eyes filled with determination. There were a lot of people in the Common Room, so he couldn’t just get up and pick up that piece of parchment. It would seem odd and unnatural.
Why was he so interesting in this boring piece of parchment you may ask?
It has his name on it. Written neatly in cursive letters.
Multiple hours later, the Common Room was almost clear. When the last group of girls headed up the stairs, he jumped up, ran over and picked up the piece of parchment. He unfolded the parchment with curiosity.
10 Things I Hate About James Potter
James frowned, but continued reading.
10. The way he’s a complete arse when he’s around his friends.
James frowned. He was not a arse when he was around his friends! He was just fun when he was around them. And who would dare to write this list anyways. They had no right to be saying such things about his friends! James found no name, but continued reading.
9. The way that he thinks that he is everything because he scored a goal in Quidditch.
Hey! He did not… never mind. He did.
8. The way that he has to prank everyone all of the time.
That was because he was who he was. He was a Marauder, and that was what the Marauders do. He just had to prank people, or else his life would be as boring as a Hufflepuff’s!
7. The way that he can make anyone burst out laughing in dead silence.
He was very confused now. That wasn't something that someone would hate, unless of course, you were someone like Lily Evans, who constantly hit him upside the head when he would cause people to laugh out loud in the library. She was probably the only girl, no, the only person in Hogwarts who enjoyed silence.
6. The way he looks after Lily Evans rejects him.
Now, this was definitely something that someone would hate.
5. The way that he is loyal to his friends.
This is something to hate? There was something obviously wrong with this person.
4. The way that he makes me laugh all of the time.
…
3. The way that he brightens the room, just by being in it.
Well, obviously. That's who he was, he was just that amazing.
2. The way that I'm in love with him, and he will never know.
His eyebrows furrowed. Who wrote this list?
1. The way that he is irrevocably in love with Lily Evans, even though she refuses him.
James looked upon the list with a frown on his face. Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming down the girl’s dormitory stairs. Florence Holmes.
“Oh! I’m so sorry!” Florence said, having nearly run into James. Her single side braid bounced slightly as she looked flustered.
"It's fine,” he said, flashing her a smile. Before she could continue on, he spoke once more. “Hey, do you recognize this handwriting?" He shoved the list under her nose.
She looked at it, an unreadable expression flashing across her face. Luckily, James didn't notice.
"No, I don't recognize it,” Florence said, walking briskly across the Common Room to pick up her book bag. As James watched her, he leaned against the wall. His heart seemed to want to pound out of his chest, and it beat wildly.
As she turned and walked back over to him, a thought hit James so abruptly that he thought that he would fall down.
"Are you alright?" Florence asked, shooting the stumbling James an odd look. He recovered quickly, nearly flushing in embarrassment.
"I'm fine." He told her. He swallowed and opened his mouth. Nothing came out.
She shot him another another strange look before she began to climb up the stairs, back to her room.
“Florence!" James said loudly. She turned around on the stairs.
"What?"
"Would… would you…"
"Spit it out, James." Florence snapped impatiently, tapping her foot on the floor. She was one of the very few girls who seemed to be able to resist the ‘Potter Charm,’ as many called it.
"WouldyouliketogotoHogsmeadewithme?"
"What? Sorry, you need to speak a little bit slower. I don’t understand gibberish.”
"Would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me?" James asked, much slower this time, and Florence blinked in surprise, shocked.
"Um… yeah, sure,” She murmured, still slightly in shock as she smiled kindly at him. It was his turn to be shocked. She rarely smiled at him. Usually, she just spared him a glare and a sarcastic word or two. Florence turned around, about to continue her trek back up the stairs.
"Florence! Come back down the stairs."
The blonde girl turned, an irritated expression flittering across her face as she climbed back down stairs. She stopped in front of him, placing a thin arm on her hip.
“Yes?”
He paused, “You wrote the list didn’t you?”
She opened her mouth, and closed it, looking like a gaping fish.
“How did you-?”
“I’d recognize your hand writing anywhere.”
James let a sound of surprise when she pulled him into a hug, kissing his cheek, before pulling back. Florence’s face was as red as Arthur Weasley’s hair. As fast as lightning, she ran up the stairs, only stopping at the top to look over her shoulder at the stunned James Potter.
She stuck her tongue out at him.
“I’ll see you at Hogsmeade tomorrow Potter! You better not be late, or I’ll roast you alive!”
James just smirked.
