NIK'S POV

'Mate!' my wolf yelped.

I have a mate! I have a mate! Holy crap...

I pulled myself out of my thoughts when I heard a familiar Australian accent.

"well then, mate. Tate, this is my friend Nik. Nik, this is Tate." David said sarcastically. I jumped out of my mate's- Tate?- hold and ran into David's open arms. 

"David! Holy crap I haven't seen you since... since forever!" I said in a rush, not stopping to take a breath.

"slow down! God woman I've only been gone for a month."

"A month to long!" David looked over my head at the person behind me and I remembered that i was in the middle of the club, making scene. 

My boss, Josh, walked out from behind the bar. He liked to yell and swear at us girls if we did something wrong. also if we want a raise we have to sleep with him first. Asshole. "Well this is sweet and all but we have customers waiting. Go get your ass back in the dressing rooms and get changed for your show."

I sighed and slipped out of David's hold. I bowed my head and mumbled a quick "Yes, sir". I ran back to my dressing room and changed into a sexier outfit. I had to do a private show for some guys so I had to look good. I grabbed the outfit laid out for me by one of the girls. A black, leather corset that zipped in the front and black bikini bottoms. I left the zipped down a little to show some cleavage (like there wasn't enough already, but that's what the other girls said to do) and added a little more makeup. I left my hair down because it was the easiest.

I heard a low growl behind me and turned around. There stood the most handsome man. shaggy brown hair that fell into his beautiful sky blue eyes. tall, maybe 6' 5", with brod shoulders. I could feel the power radiating off of him. so he has alpha blood? oh shit! he's the alpha's son. I can't be seen with him. if Alpha finds out I will surely be killed. oh, God. what do I do?

TATE'S POV

God, she's beautiful.

she had the most gorgeous eyes.one blue. one brown. Heterochromia, I think its called. she was so tiny probably on 5' tall. her silky black hair cascaded down her back and I had the sudden urge to run my finger through it.

what the hell? I'm a man. an alpha. I shouldn't be having these silly thoughts. I should be thinking of ways to get her in my bed. I need to mate her before my dad can do anymore damage to the pack. that's what I'll do! mate with her then reject her. is that possible?

"uh, what wrong?" she asked, hesitant.

"pack up your things. we're leaving."

"what? why?"

"you are not working here anymore."

"no, I can't! I need the money!"

"you can work somewhere else."

"but-"

"remember who you are talk to. you will not speak to me like you are my equal!"

she sighed and bowed her head. she made me feel like such a dick. why was I so mean? sometimes I wish I didn't have to be such a asshole all the time.

"let's go." I lead her out the back door into the alley that my truck was parked in. a big black truck with giant tires. there was no way Nik would be able to jump in. I opened the passenger side door and picked her up and gently put her on the seat. I loved the way she felt in my hands. so tiny and fragile. "where to?" I asked.

she gave me directions to her house and we were soon pulling up to a part of my territory I had never seen. she pointed straight ahead and I pulled into the tiny driveway. the small cottage was in the middle of a media and I could tell it was going to be beautiful in the summer.

"why don't you live in the pack house." I questioned. I can't imagine living out here by myself.

"uh, Alpha didnt want me to so he gave me this house but I have to pay for it. that's why I need to get a new job, I guess." she said softly

"my father is making you live out here?" I ask, surprised. she must have done something terrible to be force to live alone.

"I'm the runt of the pack so he doesn't want me to have contact with other unmated wolves."

I growled softly and said "good. you shouldn't be anywhere near unmated male wolves."

she sighed again and opened the truck door. I rushed out of my side to help her out. I made my way around the front of the truck and saw her jump out and land gracefully on her feet. "wait for me next time." I growled.

"yes, Alpha"she said and bowed her head. I waved my hand indicating to walk to the door. she made her way along a small rock path to the front door and I couldn't help but look at her bottom. small and firm. It makes me want to pull her into bed and- stop! I can't be having these crazy thoughts.

She opened the front door and stepped into a dark room with me right behind her. She hit a switch and the lights flickered on, showing a man snoring softly on the small couch. His tall frame hung off one end and his head, the other. Before I knew what was happening a growl tore its way out of my throat.

Nik’s POV

I could hear the rumble of a growl work its way out of Tate. Oh, shit. This isn’t going to be good. Leo jumped up from the couch, still slightly dazed from sleep. His eyes widened when he saw Tate in a fighters pose, ready to attack. Immediately he bowed his head. I stepped out from behind Tate and ran into Leo’s arms. Probably not my smartest move, with my mate standing there, but I couldn’t help it. Leo was the only person that knew what I went through at work. He knew that Josh is always trying to get me to sleep with him. He knew that I didn’t like grinding against poles for dirty, crumpled dollar bills.

 “Are you okay?” he whispered in my ear softly.  

I just shook my head and buried my face deeper into his chest. Another growl echoed around the room and then I felt a pair of warm hands grip my waist tightly and yank me away from Leo. Tate buried his face in my neck, inhaling my scent. “Tate this is Leo, my best friend. Leo this is Alpha Tate.”

Tate pulled himself out of my neck and stuck out a hand to Leo. Hesitantly, Leo shook his hand.
