CHAPTER 1

Mika's POV:

It was the first day of school and as most first days go, everyone was running around looking for lockers and classes while comparing schedules with their friends. I, on the other hand, was completely emotionless as I walked through the hallways. I was new so I hadn't met anyone yet. I was kinda nervous but kept my emotionless face on.  As I was walking, the first bell rang.

"Shit..." I said under my breath as I ran to my first class so I wasn't late.

As I walked into the class, everyone had already taken their seats next to their friends. I came running through the door panting and kneeling.

"Sorry I'm late." I managed to breathe out. It felt like the entire room's eyes were on me. I was still panting heavily as I put a hand on the wall for support.

'Asthma attack...' I thought. The teacher placed a hand on my back and whispered,

"Are you okay?" I looked up at her as tears were rolling down my face. It hurt so badly...

"Can't...Breathe...Hurts..." I managed to say between breaths.

'Is this really how I'm starting my new school year?" I asked.

'Damnit! I should've listened and taken my inhaler!' As if she read my mind, the teacher grabbed something out of her desk and pulled me in the hall. She put the something in my mouth and pushed a button.

"She has an inhaler?" I thought. After a few minutes, we re-entered the class and I felt super embarrassed, but kept wearing my emotionless expression.

"Sorry about that class, that was a harsh introduction of our new student." I heard her say.

'No shit sherlock.' I thought.

"Why don't you introduce yourself?" The teacher asked.

"Hm?" I looked up from the floor. "Oh, my name is Mika and I moved her over the summer."

"Where did you move from Mika" A kid spoke out from the class sorta laughing

"None of your damn business!" I exclaimed. I felt something warm rolling down my face before i realized, I'm crying.
