Chapter 2
Ridgemont
It was Saturday the 31st of August, Annie, Jeanie and Kenny had, had a wonderful summer of riding horses, swimming, movies, and barbeques. Jeanie and Kenny were at Annie's house to say goodbye, before her aunt and uncle drove her to the airport. Everyone had been preparing for this parting all summer, but with all the preparations, it didn't make this fair well, any easier.
Annie hugged her friends and vowed to e-mail or face book them two or three times a week. Her lap top in her bag and gave it a pat. Jeanie and Kenny promised Annie the same. When the goodbyes were done, Annie climbed up into the cab of the truck next to her aunt. Annie waved to her friends out the open window, as her Uncle Bud drove away.
It was an hour drive to Hendersonville Kentucky where the nearest airport was located. Annie was nervous. She had never been on an airplane before. When they reached the terminal, uncle Bud and aunt Anne escorted Annie through the security isle. Uncle Bud had sent Annie's trunk, carrying clothes and other necessities on ahead a few days before.
Annie's only carry on was her bag pack. Annie looked around in awe at her surroundings, floor to ceiling windows the length of the building, and all the planes taking off and landing. Annie had never seen so many people in all her life.
The family waited a half an hour before Annie's plane was ready to take off. They only had a few minutes to say their final goodbyes. "Okay....aunt Anne began. ...."You have your cell?"....Annie nodded. Aunt Anne had bought her one the week before so she and uncle Bud could hear her voice once in a while.
