Cristiano had been asleep for nearly an hour now. We had taken turns driving awhile back and I kept having to turn up the volume of the radio to drown out his loud Italian snoring.

"Cristiano," I shoved him as I tried to multitask keeping my eyes on the road and on Cristiano. He grunted and pushed my hand away.

"Cristiano, GET UP!" I punched him in the shoulder and he groaned and open his eyes, his face in a permanent scowl.

"What?" He sarcastically drawled out.

"It's your turn to drive. I've been driving for three hours straight and I literally cannot feel my ass!"

"Well don't drive then! I'm going back to sleep," he grumbled.

"How the hell are neither of us going to drive? Cristiano Luciano Anfredelli, you get your Italian ass up in this seat and drive the fucking car!"

I pulled over to the side of the road and got out of the car, slamming the door behind me. Cristiano stirred in his seat and I punched his shoulder.

Rule #1 about me when I'm on my period: I am very violent and snarky.

I punched him in the shoulder once more, certain that he would have a bruise, and Cristiano cursed at me and shoved the car door open. "You are a pain in the ass, woman," he muttered as he switched spots with me. "But I'm your pain in the ass," I grinned and slapped his ass. His lips twitched into a grin and he started the engine.

"Tommy used to work on the docks!

Union's been on strike
He's down on his luck
It's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day

Working for her man, she brings home her pay for love," Cristiano sings.

"For loooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeee!" I echo laughing as I sang. He hit the steering wheel to the beat.

"She says we've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love,"

"We'll give it a shot!" I screamed.

"OHHHHHHHH
We're half way there
OHHHHHHHHHHH
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it
I swear,
OHHHHHHHHHH
livin' on a prayer!" We sang together while laughing at the same time.

The song was over and it was silent for a moment. Neither of us had mentioned what had happened to Zillo, I assumed that he didn't want to discuss it so I kept my mouth shut. Cristiano was deep in thought as we drove along the highway and I glanced over to him, not-so-subtly watching him.

Somehow, he looked older; more tired and pale. He looked far different than the man who had surprised me at the strip club all those months ago. I put my hand on his knee and patted him reassuringly. "I don't completely understand what happened back there, but I don't blame you for doing it."

He casted me a wary look and gave a weak smile. "Kate was my little sister," he said softly.

"Is that why you got so mad? Because of what Zillo said?" I asked and he nodded.
