The Announcement (Phan)

“Now it’s time to talk about Dan vs Phil.” Dan triggers the inception noise. “What are we going to do Phil?” 

“The bubble wrap challenge,” I reply. He was right...I do sound sinister.

“And what exactly does that entail?”

“We have to make outfits out of bubble wrap. But the challenging part is that you can’t pop any bubbles.”

“I think you might win this one, Phil. I’m terrible around bubble wrap.”

“Do you want to make a bet, Dan? Whoever loses has to wear it for the rest of the show.”

“Well I can’t back down,now, CAN I?” Dan smiles familiarly at me.

I reach over to Dan and pop one of his bubbles and look innocently at the camera. I can feel Dan glaring at me and can’t help but smile. “So Millie. Did you watch that disaster?” 

“Yes I did.”

“Would you like to announce the winner?” I continue.

Dan presses the drumroll button, and Millie announces “The winner of Dan vs Phil is....Phil!”

“Yay!” I jump into the air, and Dan slams his face into the mic.

“It’s not my fault! Bubble wrap is irresistible!” Dan sighs, “Congratulations, Phil.”

“Thanks Millie! Your amazing announcing skills have earned a request.”

“Can I have Need Your Love please?”

“Of course! Enjoy, Millie!” I start to take off my headphones, but Dan stops me.

“Hold on!! Hold on!!!” The song stops playing.

“What...What are you doing, Dan?”

“Phil.Remember what we agreed on? How we’re sick of hiding...?” He pulls off his headphones and drops to one knee. He can’t... “Phillip Michael Lester. Will you marry me?” He looks like an idiot on the floor covered in bubble wrap, but how could I possibly say no? 

My hands dart to my face and I nod silently. As Dan stands up, smiling the widest I’ve ever seen, Need Your Love starts playing again. I see that he has tears in his eyes, realizing that I do too. 

I grab Dan roughly by the waist and pull him towards me, kissing him deeply. With everything going on, I can’t resist. “I love you, Dan.” I hug him tightly. “So much.”
