The king sat alone in his throne room anxiously biting his thumb, a habit he's always exhibited when nervous. His son was in danger, the poor boy had been born with a terrible fate, a fate the king could not let him suffer.
The doors opened and ji soo walked in followed by four men.
She stopped in front of his throne and bowed low, “Your Majesty please worry no more here are the warriors I have promised you”
she said and stepped aside. The four men glanced at her and then each man squared his shoulders glaring at the mortal that summoned them.
“Pay your respects to him he is after all the king of this nation. ”
the fire dragon said. He bowed and the other men reluctantly did the same. “Introduce yourselves” the king said.
The goblin scoffed, the nerve of this mortal! The fire dragon glared at the goblin and then cleared his throat.
“Your majesty I am Chang sun, I am the fire dragon, popularly known as the salamander ”
The goblin glared hotly at Chang sun, for some reason the fool decided that he was in charge.
“Jong kyu, goblin” he said bluntly.
The fox smirked, he found it quite amusing. “Your majesty, its an honour to meet you, I am Daeman the gu mi ho" he said.
The demon stared at the king impassively, he had no interest whatsoever in exchanging pleasantries with a mere human even if he was a king.
Chang sun cleared his throat and smiled apologetically at the king.
“Your majesty please excuse our friend here, he is the quiet type. His name is Tae hyun, he is a half demon". Chang sun said and ignored the cold look he received from the demon.
The king sat quietly and stared at each man as if to be observing and scrutinizing them. “I have asked Ji soo here to summon you here because of my youngest son. According to the clerks of sogyeokseo, my son young jae is the thousand year old soul” the king said. Chang sun's eyes widened, the thousand year old soul was here in the palace? How was it that he did not know this.
“So what does that have to do with us?” jong kyu asked.
Daeman smacked him at the back of his head. The king chose to ignore them and continued.
“His life is in danger, as the thousand year old soul his blood gives power to any supernatural being that drinks it or devours his soul” the king said.
Tae hyun started laughing “Are you asking us to babysit your son, your majesty?” he asked. The king nodded. Tae hyun stopped laughing and scowled. “You are asking four of the most powerful supernatural beings to babysit a mere human, this is ridiculous and a waste of my time” he said and turned to leave, jong kyu followed him. The duo made it as far as the door before they suddenly stopped, they cried out in pain and fell to their knees. Ji soo walked towards them and smiled in a evil and crooked manner, “Do not be so foolish as to think you have a choice, your lives are in the palm of my hands” she cooed coldly.
Tae hyun and jong kyu glared at her as the pain subsided and they were able to stand up. They reluctantly followed ji soo back to the throne.
