The Concept of Darkness

I am not afraid of the dark. Nor am I afraid of death. To me they are one in the same. Darkness is simple,
peaceful, mysterious in what hides within it. Death is pure, simple, and peaceful with its dark eternal rest.

I am not afraid of what death brings, or of what it ends. People tend to make death so much more than what it is. Religions and philosophers look out beyond death and seek out the afterlife. People try and dodge the thought of eternal death at all costs with hell, heaven, reincarnation, enlightenment, and the supernatural. Serial killers, murderers, terrorists, and the insane see death as a big elaborate game. And the others? Some don't ever want it to come. While some bump up the date by committing suicide. Death itself, minus the torture, the pain, the murder, the disease, is pure and almost innocent. It sweeps over you and that's it. There is no more existence, no more worries, just peaceful rest. Your goals, aspirations, dreams, all gone just like that. You don't have to worry about tomorrow or what the next years will bring. Everything is immediately lifted from your shoulder while you enjoy your eternity in peace.

Sure this is a contradictory subject that takes time to tap into, but I'm not a professor or a prodigious writer, I'm only a girl with her opinion "shouting out into the oblivion" amongst many others in the world we share.
