PROLOGUE

Once upon a time in a land not to unlike our own lived a great king. This king and his beautiful elfin wife had a handsome young son called Pela. The great kings predecessor was a fool and plundered the kingdom's money forcing it into a depression. This king was just and fair to all his people and greatly loved.

However, in a friendly neighbouring kingdom brooded an evil elf called Greador. Greador hated the king because he did not choose Greadors daughter to marry. His daughter had a feeble will and was easily persuaded, he wanted to use her to rule the kings kingdom. However, The king fell in love with another elfin maid killing Greadors well laid plan.

So Greador sat brooding his revenge on the king. As elves are almost immortal Greador had a long time to plot his evil plan and by the time he was satisfied with it the great king was old. Greador gathered a small army of men who disliked the king to help him with his plan.

One sad day the great king died, his son Pela was next to take the crown. Three days before he was to take the crown the small army attacked the palace killing everyone in sight. The queen and the prince escaped thought a servants passageway and fled the land to the elves.

The elves helped hide the prince and his beautiful mother and are the only ones who know where they are.

Greador left the palace unhappy, once again his plans were stopped. He left the kingdom to what was left of the small army and they made a corrupt government. Soon many in the kingdom despised the government, those who tried to act against it were called terrorists and prosecuted. The elves fled there cities and hid in fear of there destruction.

An old fortune teller for the royal elfin family told a prophecy of a child - in elvin standard - who would be given elfin power during a great storm sent by an unknown source, the child would defeat the evil to come and see the thrown given to the rightful king.

The second depression came as suddenly and unexpectantly as the last, however, the results were far more atrocious. The rate of unemployment grew to devastating numbers. Crime and murder increased as once honest people, fought among them selves like starving wolves to survive. The government, who was as corrupt and dark as hell itself, either encouraged the violence or took no notice of it. "Terrorists" as the government called them fought their hold on power. When they felt all hope was gone they did the only thing that was left.
