"Please," I whispered desperately, looking up into Derek's tear-stained face. He held me tightly, words unable to escape his lips. He was distraught, but there was something else in his eyes - guilt? I knew what I was asking was too much, but I couldn't take it any longer. The pain was becoming unbearable.
Derek brought me closer, tightening his grip around me. My whimpering echoed around us as I waited for the inevitable. I heard him speak, his voice was soft and sincere.
